* check if both spark plugs are working properly (have you changed them?)
EDIT: Referring to your last post, I don't think you will. Do check it out. Pre caution definitely better than cure.
I second Pranay on this. I think I had the same problem some time back. My bike would not go beyond 6-6.5k RPM. If I tried to go beyong that that, the bike would sputter and jerk. This problem would not happen for the about the first 5 kms when I would start the bike after a halt. It came after about 5 kms. Prongs had a similar problem too. I made about 5 visits to the SC and finally got the prob sorted by changing the fuel filter. Thanks to pranay for pointing this out to me. I know that you have changed your fuel filter 2k kms back, but let me tell you that i had this prob when my odo read 1500. So i guess you should take a look at the fuel filter. If it's not choked then you can leave it alone anyway, but I think that if your problem is the same as mine, then you should take a look.
Moreover, the SC guys were saying that they would take a look at the roll-over and G&D sensor. fortunately that wasn't needed, but you could explore these options if the fuel filter does not solve your problem.

Referring to my earlier post here.
After a Bajaj Engineer looked at it, he changed the starter relay kit and CO setting (as suggested on the forum here). Bike is running much smoother now and started fine
Since the Fuel tank was over half full the fuel meter issue did not occur at that time. It seems it only displays incorrect fuel level if fuel level is low.

Fuel Gauges even in cars are not 100% accurate. So don't bother yourself much over it.Originally posted by shaktisingh View PostSince the Fuel tank was over half full the fuel meter issue did not occur at that time. It seems it only displays incorrect fuel level if fuel level is low.
I personally go for a tank full and on an average ride for around 500 kms before the low fuel indicator light comes on.. after which I again go for another tank full.

The bike shows anything from empty to 3 bars if the fuel is less than half tank. That's quite bothersome, specially since now I am unsure of the mileage I don't want to get stuck somewhere with an empty tank.Originally posted by payeng View PostFuel Gauges even in cars are not 100% accurate. If you keep the bike on the main stand you will not face this fluctuation issue as much!Originally posted by shaktisingh View PostThe bike shows anything from empty to 3 bars if the fuel is less than half tank. Moreover the time when the meter is most accurate is when you are riding the bike in a straightline. Whatever reading it shows then, that's the most accurate possible reading you can get!_________________________

If you fill only a few litres then the bars will not go up, tank it up to the brim and then see what happens.Originally posted by monty007 View Posti am having some problem wid my fuel indicator...its showing 2 bars n redlight on within 3 days....also as i fueled bike it doenst goes up..or goes up by 2 bars..but again come down in 5-6 mins....n on same posN with 2 bars n redlight on...

4th Service is around the 7.5K mark. Not really recommended changing the Air/Fuel filter, coz 10K kms is the replacment interval for the air filter and fuel filter should have been replaced in your 5K service last, changing that would entirely depend how good/bad is fuel you are using!_________________________
