    One weird thing happening lately. Suppose I am riding at 80kph contantly at 6000 rpm, as soon as I lower the throttle a bit, the speedo touched 47 kph & again I up the throttle, the speedo takes some time to get stable at 80. Now I ripped the bike on the DND few days bike the. The Speedo wont go beyond 109 - 105 though I am pretty much confident that I was doing 115+. Any idea why??


    My 7th servicing is due badly

    Get the Speedo cable checked.. it's probably loose or might need replacement. Costs 100 odd rupees.

      hmmm. Was in my list of problems for the PBK guy. Thanks a lot. But Speedo cable to be changes in 17k kms?? Isn't it bit early or I am not informed.

        well my 220's speedo cable has been changed 3 times in 20000 km

            39K kms....mine still has never been changed

            Had an small head on crash 2 months back, cable go cut then. PBK reattached it and voila it works again!

            @rx100: You're bike needs servicing thats it!

                But why do you need to change the speedo cable? The exhaust has poor manufacturing, whats going wrong with the speedo cable?

                  well the speed sensor at the end goes for a toss displaying mind boggling speeds so the only option is to change the cable.

                      Its been posted before. Please search this thread!

                      @All: Bad news, the new model of the silencer (one with rivets for the heat sheild) is also not crack proof. PBK guys tried their best to fix my silencer, finally gave up saying that there is nothing they can do about it. They will have to replace it!

                      Looking forward to my 5th exhaust !

                        @praful: your the expert in cracking the silencer
                        yesterday I met aprajit, kirosh, xilfi in delhi. They told me about your silencer(s) stories.

                        So the 5th one coming under warranty or not?
                        Why don't you get it covered under insurance? Just hit the hammer on your silencer and little bit on crash guard and take the claim.

                        Thats my take, coz I did the same to my tank.
                        its all about CC...

                              Stories?? I din't know there were stories...

                              Well insurance is the only way to go about this...will be doing the needful in a day or two!!!
