I myself have seen the hugger fall off but i thot it was due to poor fitting... thanx i get ur point clear...Originally posted by insanebiker View PostFirstly, the tyre huggers are not of that great quality. They have snapped off on encountering craters in many of my friend's bikes.
Secondly, u cant fit it on the 200/220 as the 200 AND 220 dont have slots on their swingarms for these to be fitted.
since welding and stuff is involved i'l put some thot... Might even ditch the whole idea...Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostIf you are so interested, get the slots welded onto the swingarm&get it fitted. You won't even have to remove the rear mudguard.
yeah im aware of that... wont be getting anything welded on it....Originally posted by insanebiker View PostWelding would be difficult as the 220/200 have got an elliptical swingarm. My BiKe DoEsN't LeAk OiL, iT mArK's ItS TeRriToRy !

1 problem i know of is if you have that tyre hugger and you happen to ride through slushy mud and some of it sticks to your rear wheel, you might even get stuck there itself and will have to clean up (while yourself sitting in the mud) as the bike wouldnt budge from its stuck position.
I know this b'cos my friend had a similar experience on his p180.
I think this answers ur question monty

SO its time FOr THIS question ....
....Just want to kno how u guys feel ....
1)HOw do u rate the new p220
?
2)Do u think the launch of the new p220 created any disturbances in ur thots ?
3)Are they right in what they said ? that IT IS THE FASTEST INDIAN??
4) Finally, if in case ur satisfied with the new bike Is there any thing which u would like to import from it(or even steal) onto ur current machine.. ?
5) Were the articles in the newspapers and tv's adversely affecting ur decision of buying the Fi or repenting on buying ? since BAJAJ showed so much hype in it...
ps...i certainly felt i should have gone for the carb one, but i cudnt wait.... and more over i knew the Fi was better anyday and in the longer term
OR AM I ?

Who knows time will only tell...I guess they are, but not by much...the R15 is still lightning fast....
4) Finally, if in case ur satisfied with the new bike Is there any thing which u would like to import from it(or even steal) onto ur current machine.. ?
A few things...will tell when I have done the needful...
5) Were the articles in the newspapers and tv's adversely affecting ur decision of buying the Fi or repenting on buying ? since BAJAJ showed so much hype in it...
Nope, the Fi still rocks in its own way it has its advatages over the carb that appeal to me a satisfy my needs more than the carb....
ps...i certainly felt i should have gone for the carb one, but i cudnt wait.... and more over i knew the Fi was better anyday and in the longer term

1)HOw do u rate the new p220
?
Positives of the new P220:
>> Revs smoothly than my bike (post 6K)
>> Handling definitely is better
>> No fairing vibes
Positives of my P220 DTS-Fi
>> Zero starting issues (ever)
>> Won't run out of breath on high altitudes
>> Although handling on track isn't sharp, the suspension is "cushy" and "comfortable".
2)Do u think the launch of the new p220 created any disturbances in ur thots ?
Am very satisfied with my P220 DTS-Fi.. no regrets.
3)Are they right in what they said ? that IT IS THE FASTEST INDIAN??
It's definitely faster around corners now.. can't tell about the top whack, but the new P220 does rev smoothly especially at high revs.
4) Finally, if in case ur satisfied with the new bike Is there any thing which u would like to import from it(or even steal) onto ur current machine.. ?
a. The set of soft compound tyres (picked at the rubber and found them to be softer than the older ones or even the ones presently provided on the P180 UGIV)
b. And if possible get the new riding position (handlebars are a little bit higher, no idea though if its because of the handlebars or the front forks) of the new P220 DTSi.
5) Were the articles in the newspapers and tv's adversely affecting ur decision of buying the Fi or repenting on buying ? since BAJAJ showed so much hype in it...
Quite happy with my P220 DTS-Fi.. no regrets.

I really hate this plastic piece... I fu***d up once on my Bajaj Discover.... Was going from Noida to Delhi few years back, there was a big ditch filled with water came in my way my rear tyre went into it and that plastic piece got stucked in my alloy wheel dont know how, me and bike badly slipped on the road full of traffic and badly hurt.. Still some scars are there on my leg and elbow... Buying FZS next month and will remove that there and then and gift the same to YAMAHA only...Originally posted by antz.bin View Postit is the black plastic thing just above the rear wheel.. hugging it with both arms ending at either side of the swing arm.. the kind u see on p150 & p180.

2)ALL-black treatment
3)lesser vibes in front fairing.
5) Were the articles in the newspapers and tv's adversely affecting ur decision of buying the Fi or repenting on buying ? since BAJAJ showed so much hype in it...

if u had noticed the riding position of the first lot of P220 FI's and the last lot of P220 FI's is also quite different.. infact a bit raised in the last lot...Originally posted by payeng View PostChecked out the 2009 P220 DTSi again today.. apart from experiencing the handling becoming better, I also found that the handlle bar on this new P220 is slightly higher compared to the one on my bike, resulting in a more relaxed riding posture.
The riding position is still much sporty than the Karizma but it is also more relaxed and comfortable than the older P220 DTS-Fi.. I personally liked the position on the new one..
Would try to find out if it would be possible to modify the same on my bike as the new riding position is definitely much more touring friendly.

Speaking about the OKS chain spray, dosen't it require the chain to be squeaky clean (properly cleaned using kerosene or whatever) before you spray it? There should obviously be no oil on the chain either. So you have to clean the chain every single time you want ot lube it. I considered buying it... but after seeing the above requirement, I desisted.
Motul does not require this.

1)HOw do u rate the new p220

Its good, but not worth the hype.
2)Do u think the launch of the new p220 created any disturbances in ur thots ?
At first it did, but later after seeing the minor upgrades.... am happy I have the original one with me.... and the Fi has an upper hand in technology atleast.
3)Are they right in what they said ? that IT IS THE FASTEST INDIAN??
If 5kmph more top end is considered a big thing.... then I agree with the Fastest Indian tag.
4) Finally, if in case ur satisfied with the new bike Is there any thing which u would like to import from it(or even steal) onto ur current machine.. ?
None, am totally satisfied with my bike. (Btw, I did not like the black styling on the new bike)
5) Were the articles in the newspapers and tv's adversely affecting ur decision of buying the Fi or repenting on buying ? since BAJAJ showed so much hype in it...
No, Bajaj does hype all its new products.
