one more small situation....... imagine 5 bikes in a line...... ur bike is the 4th bike.... they have no patieince to get ur bike slowly into this line.... instead they put ur bike on main stand ....& then push ur bike backwards..... they bike refuses to move...but he tilts the bike side by side...slowly walking it on its main stand.... hatss off to his talent....BUT Y OUR BIKES ??? can our stands take that torture ??

While doing this walking procedure the rear foot rest of my bike got bent... i told him about it..... he gazes at me like as if i did it before leaving it for service...... ALTOGETHER im highly unsatsfied..... i would rather go somewhere else to get my bike serviced ....CAN I ????
Firstly, you don't need to go there in the morning except maybe on weekends if you want the bike early. They tell you to come in the morning for their own convenience. I usually call them up around 2 to check and then go.

Secondly the handling part is true for everyone. Again if you go late your will probably be the only bike to be taken upto the PBK floor. I tell them specifically not to apply that goo what they call polish on my bike. Buy a good one and apply it yourself.

Lastly, be forceful when you have to deal with these idiots. If you are in the foulest and nastiest mood your work will be done satifactorily Speak to Mr. Manoj if possible or whoever is the head there now. Not that he is very knowledgeable or anything but your bike will be attended to quickly.

Head to AutoService in BSK if you have some major work on your bike. Yes, you can do that.

Hey can you post your problems point-wise, it was pain to read through your post.

About elsewhere you can try Khivraj on Kasturba road or AutoService in Banashankari. AutoService is comparatively better of than the rest.

That means there's excess lube on your chain, wipe it with a cloth once before starting after you lubed the chain.
NOTE: Be very careful, do not switch the engine on while cleaning the chain.

        • This issues are everywhere. At the time of delivery they will tell you not the push start thye elec button untill the self check is done & the fuel pump is primed. But on the other hand, at the time of servicing these guys seems to forget their own advice.

Here in Delhi & Noida they spray OKS spray after cleaning the chain with petrol or diesel but I haven't seen them applying grease.

Here too they will throttle the bike to its max when it is advised not to do so in idling condition.

Why are these contradictions, any idea??

Here are replies to your query:

                1. First of all did they grease ur chain??????? I suppose chains aren't supposed to be greased just lubed.....

                2. About the guy taking the bike to 9k I heard someone else facing the same issue and the reply from the mechanic: " Isse filter saaf ho jayega" Don't know if he was telling the right thing.....

                3. About the coat thing....well even I had a problem with the guy not wiping the thing properly.....I asked him to do it again....

                4. Talk to the head there and complain.....such thing is really unacceptable....

I have no idea about the PBK at Bangalore....and yeah sure u can go to any other PBK if u can drive the distance....

1)they lubed it... i can find even greese.... well thats ok...not big of a deal...very little greese... sadly the chain lube has splattered all over on my alloys, swing arm, reached even the body panels... i painfully yet carefully cleaned them off......

2)he went upto 9k rpm ......i dint say anything.... i just kept quiet...

3)will talk to the head and even send a post to BAjaj at pune..... At home pitaji unsatisfied...

4)my rear discs are not functionng to their full capability.,.... even if i jam my rear brake i don even undergo a lockup.... what do i do ??? im thinking of cleaning the brake pads myself.....i kno how to ...so......

Try this on a empty stretch of road.

Ride at a slow speed of about 20, and press the rear brake alone, keep pressing and depressing the brake pedal. It will slowly return to its usual feel.

This is just a pressure loss coz the svc guys must have opened to clean the disc pads!

Its best to pump the brakes before riding.

OT @Praful: I'll be getting my bike from the SVC today only. They couldn't get the fairing till yesterday.

                      • Woohoo guys! Completed two years of owning the Pulsar 220! I am happier than ever! Just went on a road called Katraj bypass road. This road is shown in the Idea cellular ad-'walk when you talk',lady walking around Santro.
And maxed her out at speedo indicated 138 kmph!!!!!

I will write a more elaborate report soon.

Congrats on completing 2 years of relationship with your bike. Mine has done 21 months with me.

138..!! On the P220 DTS-Fi it means that the speed would have been around 134-135 kmph. Cool.

                            • Hey guyz.. I am going to book a P220 DTSi as soon as the Nasik PBK gyz give me a test ride. My only concerns right now are:

                              1) I am 6'1 and i think i had read somewhere that on a P220, tall riders' knees scrape the fixed fairing and somehow I feel that will be very discomforting on long rides. Split seats means i cannot just shift backwards on the seat.
Is there any truth in the problem or is it just another "made up" P220 problem.

                              2) The newer P220 DTSi owners on the ownership thread keep coming up with average in the range of 25-32 kmpl. Should i rather go in for the FI? Really confused.

P.S.: I have never ridden a P220 in my life so don't have 1st hand experience.
@Mods: Why couldnt you keep the same thread for 220dtsi ownership. U ppl are much more experienced than the people in DTSi Thread. We will end up finding most of the solutions to our problems here rather than over there. (if i do go for DTSi not FI)

                              Please do respond.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

                                Solutions/Answers

                                1. I am almost 6 ft. I have never found the 220 to be uncomfortable. The riding position needs getting used to. Though the seats are split, the rider seat is long enough to allow a fore and aft movement while normal riding and most importantly, while cornering (to shift weight bias). I do not feel that this should be an issue. Knees caressing/scraping the fairing edge is possible but not very concerning.

                                2. The Fi gives a fuel economy raging from 25 when ridden a la race track style, to 52 (inflammable got this figure...highest recorded in my knowledge). Depends on how you ride.

The DTS-i is the newest kid on the block...dont miss it
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.
