  • hi guys
Have owned a Pulsar 220 Fi for abt 6 mths now no problems at all so far..................The place where i park my bike has quite a bit of oil there is it normal because its an oil cooled bike.......Or it also can be bcaz of the bike being parked in the same place......

    Comment

    • even if the bike is oil cooled there should be no leakage, either itsthe oil from the chain if you have over oiled it or your bike is leaking oil.

                  • Hey guys here is my small experience at Bajaj pro biking service center indiranagar......I have Highlighted small points but they were of major concern to me at that time...

                    1) First off all ...they asked me to give my bike for service as soon as possible in the morning( they asked me to drop off my bike at 8:30)... i went there at 8:45.. the showroom's shutters were STILL closed with one tired watchman Yawning and slowly opening the shutters... i waited for 35 mins for the service managers to arrive ... they took their own sweet time... It was such a BIG turn off for a person who goes there for his first service...

ok after slogging there and giving my bike, i returned home... only to kno after just 1 and a half hours that my bike was serviced...
                    i was surprised...
When i went to collect the bike, i paid an amount of 345/- for the engine oill and 22 rupees for greesing and other small stuff(inclusive)...

they ask me to collect the bike at 12...i reach there and they have applied this paste of teflon coating liquid ....and its still not buffed...the reason ( MASS LUNCH SESSION) absolutely no disturbance... u talk something they say "Sir ITS lunch time"

I spoke to the service manager(after his undisturbed meal) .... he said they only greese(lube) the chain and change the engine oil and check for minor niggles....

                    2) Thats the most they do on the first service. then he switches on my bike( acting very mature gazing at the digital display like he'd never seen it before) ...

                    3) he thumbs the starter while the self check is taking place( not giving it any time)... ......WTF ?? i never do that.... then he opens the throttle and within a sec i see the rpm at 9k ..... and they say me to keep it under 6k ......

                    4) i slogged for another 15 mins and then this service crew person arrives and cleans the paste applied on my bike with a dirty piece of cloth...

Isnt this paste supposed to be buffed ????

and he wipes it off leaving some paste here and there...

                    5) i take my bike out.for a test ride at the showroom... my rear discs just dont respond... one coat of diesel on the discs.i was slow so i managed.. they dont even hint u about it...

Conclusion : I had to come back home with a bike still somewhat dirty and half buffed( or wiped) however u call it with the rear discs responding only when i apply it with my heels....

                    • I saw them even mis handling bikes like crazy........... they cant get a bike in its tight spot the simply do a smalll wheel spin and get the bike into place... Hats off to their handling....but for pete's sake let them do it with their bikes.....Y someone else's????/

one more small situation....... imagine 5 bikes in a line...... ur bike is the 4th bike.... they have no patieince to get ur bike slowly into this line.... instead they put ur bike on main stand ....& then push ur bike backwards..... they bike refuses to move...but he tilts the bike side by side...slowly walking it on its main stand.... hatss off to his talent....BUT Y OUR BIKES ??? can our stands take that torture ??

While doing this walking procedure the rear foot rest of my bike got bent... i told him about it..... he gazes at me like as if i did it before leaving it for service...... ALTOGETHER im highly unsatsfied..... i would rather go somewhere else to get my bike serviced ....CAN I ????

That's really pitiful on part of the Pro biking people.....The service at my place is prompt and even the people are quite responding...

Here are replies to your query:

                        1. First of all did they grease ur chain??????? I suppose chains aren't supposed to be greased just lubed.....

                        2. About the guy taking the bike to 9k I heard someone else facing the same issue and the reply from the mechanic: " Isse filter saaf ho jayega" Don't know if he was telling the right thing.....

                        3. About the coat thing....well even I had a problem with the guy not wiping the thing properly.....I asked him to do it again....

                        4. Talk to the head there and complain.....such thing is really unacceptable....

Even I noticed that. At first I thought that it was an oil leak, but later I realized that it was leaking from the chain.

In my bike instead of the lube dripping down...it gets sprayed on the alloy.....after few weeks after the first service ma rear alloy was almost black...
