Bro dont tell abt the deep knowledge of Bajaj service mechanics They hve very poor knowledge abt FI systems. You just consult with PBK Engineer in your state..that is better. Dust accumulation on spark plugs and fuel injector nostril tip may one of the reason for misfiring. but there are so many other reasons too. Just talk to a knowledgable person at PBK or write to Bajaj for these problems.
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the seat.

      • Yes bad fuel can cause a misfire. Plugs get dirty coz of it due to which Improper sparking & leading to a misfire.
But let me tell u a proper misfire on a 220 sounds like a small bomb blast!

What u may be referring to maybe be the bubbly sound which can be due to clogged injectors which again is due to bad quality of fuel. Here the fuel delivery is not smooth hence the weird sound.

Hey i want to change my current stock spark plugs with NGK iridium does it completely reduces misfiring??.
& i also heard that many people were telling that their bike's FE has increased, throttle response is very much improved & pickup is also increased up to some extent after installing NGK iridium spark plugs how far those comments are true???

          • ^^all that is just phycological all it will do is ensure stable spark throughout the day and any operating conditions.

Are you sure? many of my friends also experinced the changes in their bikes that i had mentioned in my previous post.

will d misfiring problem dissapears completly after installing NGK iridium plugs?
my bike is having a strange problem from since the winter season began
after the first start the bikes engine gets shutdowns suddenly when the engine is cool.Once the engine gets warm there will be no engine shutdown can this problem solved by installing NGK iridium spark plugs???

              • i second ajinkya ! its all in ur head ! the ngk's really dont do much have been using them for almost 15k kms !! havent seen any significant increase in mileage or throttle respose but i guess they last really long since they are irridium tipped !

                • I second ajinkya & diehard.
Its all in the head & is purely psychological. All it does is spark efficiently under any kind of load conditions. I advice against it unless u are a long tourer or a hard revver. FE/throttle response/pickup increasing is simply nonsense. For general commuting stock champion plugs are more than enough.

                      • NGK VS Normal

I'm Using NGKs from 26k kms.
Used it in previous bikes as well as my car.
                        The difference is noticeable.
                        Difference -

Normal Spark plugs Lose their characteristics in just under hundred kms & after every 1000km U need to clean them to get it back to original performance.
SO U tend to lose on Fuel efficiency, pick up, etc., & once cleaned they are normal.
Iridiums - Does not lose their characteristics even after 5000km.
                        The Spark will be uniform.
Normal petrol cleaning & checking recommended every 10k kms.

Normal Sparks need adjustment every 2-3k kms.
Iridiums - NO ADJUSTMENTS life time.

Normal Sparks live for 8-10k ( Max 12k)
Iridiums live for 25-30k (Max 40k).

If U check the performance of these 2 when new will differ by hardly 1%.
U get the advantage of Iridiums mainly because of its maintenance free nature.

If U R looking for performance or mileage gains U get it only on the long run only when the Normal spark looses it power after 100kms.
If U can clean the normal spark plug every 500kms there is hardly 1% difference between these two.

                        Price -
                        Normal - 125 per piece.
                        Iridium - 550 per piece.

                        Overall cost for 30000km -
                        Normal - Price for 1 every 10k kms + Cleaning every 1000km
                        125*3 + 20rs * 27 times cleaning.
                        375+540= 915.
Iridiums - Price for 1 every 30k km + cleaning every 10k kms.
                        550 + 20rs * 2 times cleaning.
                        550 + 40 = 590.

Now its you who need to decide which is better.
