One thing i observed is that now after i changed the tyre the bike now is very responsive, it runs much more smoother now and feels unstressed. infact there is a appreciable difference and when my friend rode the bike he too felt the same.i dont know the reason for this but i think maybe coz now the tyre can grip the tarmac better ,the power can be put down in a more linear way which is why the bike feels more responsive. the R15 tyre is also very light.

In a nut shell, if you are not bothered about looks go for it ,its a great tyre.

Yep r15's tyres provides excellent grip and rock solid stabilty. But we have to compromise about looks because those tyres looks odd on our 220

          1) The worm gear of the speedometer cable is either broken or out of alignment. have this fixed (front wheel axle assembly)

          2) Cone set costs around 1100-1200 plus labour. You should get it replaced as it is an important part.

              • I dono if its just me or my false notion.i did a small test.MY 220 fi is returning a mind blowing mileage of 50 kmpl.i don find danythign wrong in my calculations.i emptied the tank fully.i.e till my tank had run dry.. filled up on 5.97 litres of fuel( which lasted for 298 kms ).rode it again till dry.i dint start the bike when the bike ran dry..pushed it to the fuel pump... luckily i was just half a km away from the fuel pump both the times.well it just so happened that i maintained speeds of 50-70 always...i just hope my beauty keeps retuning this kind of a mileage.. tire pressure, etc etc always in check..no unnecessary blipping the throttle.no harsh starts.. no ripping... i just did 144 on my speedo !! for a few seconds.. well did it twice actually..i let my bike idle for 1 and a half minutes in the morning..

@ ALL :what are u mileage figures ?

                  50 kmpl?
My old CT100 used to give me something around 45.
My bike gives me anything between 23-40 depending on its mood. Mostly its somewhere around 30.

@ ALL :what are u mileage figures ?

If u see my previous post(wayy previous) i asked the same thing and everyone laughed mine pumped out unbelievable mileage of 53kmpl during running in and after 3rd servicing 51kmpl when i rode between 50-70 or 75 sometimes.
then i ripped my bike excessively, no gear changed before 7k rpm
then also it returned a 35 kmpl...
recently checked changing my riding style again between 50-70 it again pumped 49kmpl. completed 5590kms till now.
(method i use is same i fill 10ltrs every time and it lasted for some 498-500kms and some times more .
using motul 300v since 2nd service and mine is fi
and yes always checked tyre pressure chain lubrication etc etc..
and that yes leaving to run engine idle in morning is common case
                      idle rpm set to 1.5)
nowadays i never remember me on my bike and not touched 115kmph everyday.also my current mileage is around 36. completed 320 kms still around 3ltrs(estimation) left in tank.

the dtsi people are damn jealous about it.

                          • My P220dtsfi: I own a P220dtsfi wine red Nov2008 model and completed 28,000km including two long journeys of Trivandrum to coimbatore. Before buying ths FI bike I was an owner of RX100,RD,RXG135 and P180dtsi. The most attractive reason for buying ths bike was its two spark plug technology, fuel injection system and Projector head lamp. As tourer I like its performance much better than any other bike especially its smooth power delivery thru throttle response in the whole tiresome long journeys. The roar of the engine always make you happy just like listening a rock song. I had seen some owners worrying about the p220 engine. Ths s still a touchy subject for many ppl that the P220dtsfi is a complicated machine! Nope! it is false belief. Only need a little care and timely follow up. The manufacturer also need a little more attentive to ppl. In my experience ths machine is fantastic even though its ECU is not possbile to remap. but who knows abt the future performance modes.I still love ths perfect machine.
