          • @hypergamer : see there are many many factors that come into play when u say ur bike doesnt reach top speeds that it is actually capable of !

            1) wind resistance
            2) tyre pressure, odd tre wear and tear..
            3) change in gearing ( sprockets)
            4) not utilizing the full rpm range.
            5) shifting gears...
            etc etc

            .......

ur bike has beeen completely overhauled....forks, aligning etc...
looking at ur pics, what kind of a rear tyre have u installed ? gimme info on that...

normally off road spec tires don perform to its full extent on streets when top speed and when road grip is concerned...

my bike was sluggish in the beginning.upto 4k rpm, it performed exceptionally well.later on i struggled to give it a proper running in..finally now engine is slightly better than earlier.i have absolutely no problems at all till date..

            • Guys what i had observed is my bike is stopping with in 1 min or less than 30 sec after i start riding after this engine stopping, there will be no engine shutdown problem.
After a rest say 3-4 hours when i start riding again within 1 min or less than 30 secs my bikes engine will be shutdowning it may sound funny
but this is the exact problem i had observed in my bike
is this problem is due to the winter season???
              or any major problem???
i think it is not a cold start problem because cold start problem is only seen in the morning time that too the cold start problem bikes will not start engine quickly mainly carbed bikes
but my bike starts quickly and with very crispy throttle in a single start but stops with in 1 min when i start driving my bike after that the bike does not stops again after a rest when i take my bike evening for a ride the bike stops with in 1 min that too when i slow down my bike because of speedbreaker or traffic etc the engine shut downs. In low speed iam not in a higher gear iam downshifting and riding
FOR EXAMPLE:- iam riding my bike with little opened throttle say 30-40kms suddenly when a speed breaker r traffic comes, for slow down i closes my throttle completely, down shift the gear & press the clutch at this moment the bikes engine is getting shut down
after this even the same problem comes like any speed breaker or traffic etc that i had mentioned in the above the bike will not stops

This is what the exact problem i observed in my bike
I hope all understand my bikes problem

i understand ur problem... typical case of starving .. can be either air or fuel...but still, u said u had the bike tuned off lately... and u say it happens exactly after 1 min of riding, or when u hit the speed breaker... do one favour for urself.. compose an email to bajaj auto at pune... give them the whole problem clearly... wait for a response or instead call up.. i feel there is something defective... do u have warning lights going on and off regularly ? i mean like air filter clog warning or engine malfunction light glowing etc.... ???

get it rectified from where it should be actually be done..stop wasting time at pbk... or ask pbk to put in another ecu and fi for test purpose( if kacheguda is of no use go somewhere else).use it for 10-15 days...if u find no trouble , then continue.. the defective ones will be returned... talk to pbk and bajaj wisely.or contact the area manager...

                IM being diplomatic.. sorry.

Also now I have a stock zapper tyre!!! so tyres cannot or should not be an issue chain sprocket is new

Remove the rubber housing. Pluck out the socket. In the low beam there will be locking clips. Push both the ends close and then out. The clips are released and then the bulb is freed. Pluck it out and fix the Osram. Make sure u put the bulb correctly. There will be a notch like thing which should point upwards. Now put the clips back in the reverse order.
High beam has a single ended clip and everything else is similar.

Dude i was not successful with this method.. reaching the low beam was tougher than high beam.. finally took it to pbk & they removed the entire fairing to fix it...

And about the nightbreakers... its really a worthy upgrade for highway riders... more lighting area and extra brightness too...

                        now comes the worry...
It might blind the oncoming traffic (but not as bad as the HIDs)
It produces more heat than the stock(i believe) and it might hurt the light shield..

                        • Its beeen 7 months after i bought my beauty... only today did i get my emission test done.. i felt it really wasnt required...

the test results are , i have 0.245 % of co ....prescribed limit is 2-2.5 as some pro's had said...

the level is fine right ?

one small problem i have is , when wading thru slushy roads or wet roads, the rear tyre picks up mud and slush and it splashes quite a lot... the slush enters under the seat thru small places in the rear( just above the rear tire)... how do i prevent it ? small pieces of rubber strips are placed..but isnt adequate enough. any of u with a similar problem ?

my air filter is damn clean..the element.. the foam... throttle body etc etc... still i constantly get this air filter clog warning ...keeeps flashing ...
