  • 1year Sweet Journey with my 220

    Friday, 19 Sep 2008:
    Woke up at 04:00am. Waiting for the daylight to break through. Peeped through the curtains. No sign of light yet. But couldn't get back to sleep also. Turned on the light. What can be done to kill time. Watch TV? Na. Do some exercise. Na,don't feel like. Suddenly an idea struck. took out my XBHP T shirt. Took out Bike India Sep 08 edition. And very patiently wrote Pulsar 220 on that T Shirt. The design of that matched that of actual official logo. That day onward that XBHP T shirt became one of my prized possession. Took off from my pathetic office work.
    It was raining that day too. Perfect. it just made the day better.
    09:30 AM. My friend came to pick me up in her car. I had requested her to take the compensatory off that day & accompany me to the PBK. She was more than happy as she knew how important the day was to me."Aaj khoob bhalo lagchey tomaye. Ofcourse, karon you are happy today" she commented. You are looking good today. Ofcourse, coz you are happpy. I couldn't agree more.

    Destination. Vasant Vihar, PBK showroom. I was carrying Rs 88,000 in cash. Rasheed was the manager. Completed all the formalities. Now, had to take the delivery of the bike from Oklha PBK service centre. The moment I came out of the showroom, I said to my fiend that I just wanna scream loud!! I had never been that happy. I just wanted the world to know how happy I was. But ofcourse, she had sanity left in her. She threatened to leave me there at Vasant Vihar & not take me to Oklha. I reluctantly agreed. Reached Okhla in half an hour. Oh, it was still drizzling. Perfect. Shook few hands, completed the formalities there too & there stood my bike. My black beauty. My Pulsar 220 DTSFi.
    Since that day, it has been an wonderful journey. Whenever I have been with my bike I have felt peace. It has given me immense pleasure. Been to Jaipur, Haridwar & Sadhupul (near Shimla) with my 220. The feeling of being with my 220 on long highways can't be described here. It's all together a different feeling. My life would have been incomplete if my 220 hadn't come in my life. looking forward for more. Sharing some of the photographs

          • please help!!!

            guys yesterday i washed my fi.....

            then i started it and let it run idle for 2-3mins....

            it ran perfectly.
            after 1 hr i started it again it refused to start at once then i had to accelerate while using self it started i thought there must be water in silencer it will go after sum riding but even after 10 kms of running whenever rpm goes below2k engine shuts off completly.... please help me what must be the problem??
            how to overcome???

                happened with my friend's rtrfi....
                his engine oil was leaking was less on oil... so it happened like that...
                dunno if its the same case with your bike

                  its 1.5 it hardly remains idle on first crank it rather dies..

                  have to race excessively for um time then it remain idle...

                  i just replaced my oil to motul 300v 110 kms back.....
                  also no oil is leaking....

                  moreover while in gear bike jerks like when petrol tank is empty
                  but my tank is full...

                      water in tank u ask ? hmm maybe......get it checked out bro

                      and i dono if uve noticed.... while washing normally water enters the exhaust... it seeps out thru a small at the bottom of the exhaust...ur seep hole must be clogged ..
                      one small pin and u can clean it or remove exhaust and tilt it... water might be forced out if there is any..... no worries.... and also go to the pbk if ur facing extreme trouble with idling...

                      • @sak8 : moreover anything can be reason for ur idle to drop... kindly get everything checked starting from spark plugs ,exhaust , fi and to air intake....cant pin point on anything..

                            guys!!
                            yesterday i did a to and fro trip to ajmer from jaipur. while going i maintained a constant speed of 70 to 110. i didnt have any problem what so ever. but when i was coming back i was constantly riding at > 115 and all of a sudden my bike stalled.i was lucky there was no other vehicle on road at that time.first i thought i might have accidently touched the kill switch. but when i inspect i found the kill switch is in off position.i press the starter, it wouldnt start. before leaving ajmer I filled petrol worth RS 500, so it cant be coz of the petrol rather lack of it.i got the fuel filter changed last most during servicing.i swithed the ignition off and then restart it , and the bike restarted. there was no lack in throttle response. everything was fine and i thought maybe it was a one off thing and suddenly when i was doing >100 it again stalled. the engine dies down as if some one had pressed the kill switch.but when you switch off the ignition and then again restart it, it starts as if nothing has happened.there was no flashing of the malfunction light , or the airfilter choke sign ,or the low battery sign or the any other sign.i checked the engine oil level and it was correct. after that it kept happning to me 4 or 5 times.i took it to probiking in jaipur to get the spark plug checked and to see if any of the sensors are malfunctioning.they found nothing wrong.iam at a loss what to do. this same thing happened to me about 5-6 months back, took the bike to probiking and as usual they didnt find anything wrong and after that it mysteriously disappeared and has resurfaced again. guys! has any one of you experienced the same. can anyone suggest what could be wrong. i dont know where can i take my bike to solve this problem.imagine a situation where you are overtaking a vehicle at 90+ kmph and suddenly your bike's engine dies down.yesterday i went through this same situation and thanks to my stars iam unhurt.guys !!!! pls suggest me something
