oil for p220
guys! for the past few months my bike's gear shifts are very notchy and hard.sometimes during emergency braking if i down shift the lever wouldnt move.iam using valvoline 4t premium. it works better for the 1st 1000 km but after that the gear becomes so notchy that sometimes i feel there's no oil left. will shifting to motul semi synthetic help make the gear shift smooth?presently i dont have the money for the fully synthetic
because i need to buy a new tyre, clutch plates, steering cone, steel braided brake line, and the lever and front master cylinder unit from the RTR or the R15.
nows a days i found that when iam riding sometimes i feel the clutch lever automatically pushes my fingers and the next moment tne gear get disengaged, now a days its happening with a regular frequency. my bike has done 24000km and i havent changed the clutch plates. can it be the result of worn out clutch plates? also i find significant decrease in acceleration and top speed figures. now my bike tops out at 104kmph

your suggestions are most welcome

engine stalled!
hi, my bike stalled today at morning, here's brief of what happened.
in morning i started the bike, it was rather cold climate, i warmed up the bike. i barely rode it 200 meters n' the throttle went numb, n next moment the malfunction light lit up n engine died, subsequently as for precaution i checked all the plugs, sockets n' fuse, but all seemed alright on visual inspection.
after i started the bike again n' every thing was normal. wat could be the causing factor for this act?Last edited by ryder_boney; 09-26-2009, 09:52 PM.

P.S. mate, dont get use to it, itz fine if the same issue creeps in an carbed bike but not with Fi equipped one. u might just need to approach PBK to get this problem addressedOriginally posted by forcooler View Post^^happens to me too... every morning just once everyday ive gotten used to it..dont know why it happens tho!!
i've recently got serviced the bike (including change of sparkies, AF) n' co. adjusted this is why i'm clueless about the problem.
i got one more quarry. is it possible to correct co% without connecting exhaust pipe to co% monitoring machine/device?, coz from past 2 service my service attendant just connected the diagnosis tool to a plug which rests beneath pillion seat and play around with few buttons without connecting the the exhaust pipe to the device. (NOTE-the device was fully functional at that moment) and when i asked him about it, he told me that, pipe connection is only required at initial Co. checks. is it so?

They soften up with use.. but that might take some time. Somebody told me once that the softer ones found on the ZMA can be fitted to the P220 as well.. try to find out if its possible.
Otherwise, its always better to ride with gloves.

My bike's 4 months old....im not much of a regular rider...managed to do 2k kms on odo...believe me ... my gears are notchy ...and when braking hard, gears cannot be used at times to downshift.... sometimes even when stationery its difficult to change...but it seems to get solved everytime a service is done...Originally posted by burnrubbernotursoul View Postguys! for the past few months my bike's gear shifts are very notchy and hard.sometimes during emergency braking if i down shift the lever wouldnt move.iam using valvoline 4t premium. it works better for the 1st 1000 km but after that the gear becomes so notchy that sometimes i feel there's no oil left. will shifting to motul semi synthetic help make the gear shift smooth?presently i dont have the money for the fully synthetic

i found this problem to be psychological..when i got my bike , the first few days were horrible..the handle bars in the 220 must be much more wider..their placed a little too in..making us grasp the bars really tight..i found out this only when my dad told me to relax and ride.My palms used to be red with the exact impression of the grips visible..My BiKe DoEsN't LeAk OiL, iT mArK's ItS TeRriToRy !
