        • This bike is one heck of a ride to MAINTAIN! A real caretaker is needed for this ride tobe in healthy condition. My brother rides my 220(my ride is 180 UG4) and today after 2 months I got chance to ride the bike and I must say there are all sorts of problem, as my bro does'nt knows maintenance, he only knows to ride. List of problems:

          1) Sprocket, chain needs replacement at just 15000kms.
          2) Cough-up problem, time to change the fuel filter, cleaning of fuel pump.
          3) Oil leaking from the head part.(right side which contains a circular rubber seal, besides the right spark plug)
          4) Brake pads needs replacement BADLY!

I really find it hard to maintain 2 Pulsars. The 180 has no problems as I service and perform check-ups regularly, but 220 is seriously a HEADACHE if the person riding is careless.

            • Gave the bike to SC today. Facing a hell of issues, although no issues with engine, only the hicc-up problem which I think is due to the fuel filter or the fuel pump, must be solved now. Apart the list goes as:

              1) Brakes locking (brake pads wore off totally @15000kms only)

              2) Oil leaking.

Many little problems with electricals also. Apart its a nice bike.

That may be a P220 from another state and got a new Reg no.
Seeing my P220dtsfi, Often people asking me that is this a new model of P220dtsi?. Even some new P220dtsi owners surprised to see the white alloys of dtsfi and asking me whether it is painted by me..Lot of questions...but I am enjoying the true distinct personality of my bike

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the seat.

                  • Completed 49000 km Even enjoying the smoothness of power delivery with the FI. Only once got struck in Yercaud trip It was the fuel pump problem due to water mixture and replaced. Praful was also witnessed the situation and helped me a lot Even though the rattling issues of P220dtsfi often irritating me, but it is really a faithful partner to me for the past 3years

What rattling? Fairing? If so, it can be fixed.

I've not had fairing vibes for almost 2 years now.

But at present, I have hardly ridden my bike this year, hardly clocked 10K in the last one year. I have a lot of issues which are refusing to go away.

I have a balancer shaft issue, and coz of that the bike is really vibey. And there is a weird issue with my clutch, gear shifts are not precise. Plus I also have a bent front alloy. Chain sprocket needs replacement, but no stock at PBk!

Apart from that bike is still pulling well, once the above mentioned issues are fixed performance will be back on track. It still does 0-60 in 4 seconds and hits about 143-144 on the roller bench at pbk. Bike has done 62K kms now.

                      • @Praful: I dont know, where from the rattling sound comes. I think it is heard from front brake calliper or shock stumps. After every service it fade away for a few days and back again It is not the cone or ball issue. I changed it.The PBk disabled to fix it permanently. Next service on 04/01/2011...I will personally watch what they are going to do.

Seems your bike need some periodical treatment..did you ordered for the dtsfi sprokets? it is avilable plenty with Bajaj. Now I am on K&N airflow I will be changing it when the rainy season comes. Now the dtsfi roar is a little louder than before.

I am going Munnar on jan7 to 9th for attending the All kerala G2G for the year 2011. I am the only dtsfi rider in the pack, and I am really enjoying that identity. Solitary animal like a jaguar
