    • Take your bike to the PBK, the diagnostic tool will tell you which sensor is triggering the bike to shutdown. I suspect its your Roll Over sensor that's gone for a toss, but get it confirmed via the diagnostic tool.

'Phatt' sound has a few reasons, bike is running lean or either of air/fuel filters a choked.

@Rahul: For the love of your bike's engine, do not crank the bike when it does not have any oil it even if its for just 5 secs. A few extra ml of old oil is not going to do any harm.
Btw, I checked with the PBK they say its 300ml for the fork oil.

@Vidya:Whilst draining the oil, ask them to open the oil cooler pipes and let oil drip from there too. Almost 100-150ml oil comes out of them. Then refilling would amount to almost 1.3L of oil. But ensure that they tighten the oil cooler bolts tightly, many times they have left it loose and I've had oil leaking all over from there.

My bike's front disc finally decided to give way, getting it changed now after nearly 50K kms of use. For the first time my bike's clutch plates have gone bust early, changing it now after just 8K kms of use. I guess all the high altitude ripping has taken a toll on it.

My bike's handling is gone a bit funny, getting the fork oil changed and cone set replaced. It was too abused in the Leh ride as it is. Even the tyres have started to show their age early this time, both tyres have run for under 10K kms and are in need to change. Leh was really hard on them too.....

PS: Good to get some free time after eons of office work.....

Even i suspected the roll-over sensor. But if its kaput the bike wont start at all.

Now thats what the guys here have been doing at every service only to my bike. They are lazy to open the oil cooler bolts.
Now check your manual for 330ml. Recently even Prabhakar got 350ml filled. They insisted for 300ml.

Man your Leh ride took a toll on everything. Clutch plates at just 8k. And you are a supposed to be a soft rider. Even the Sirac is worn out? Ravikiran used it for over 20k kms.

Get your fuel filter changed once. Also clean the air filter. Then see if the sound still comes.

                  Update on my bike:
                  1. Next major service due.
                  2. Handling overhaul would be done.
                  3. Injector and Throttle Body to be cleaned.
                  4. Idling & CO to be adjusted.
                  5. Silencer Kaput (Warranty)
                  6. Battery Kaput (Warranty)
                  7. Headlight cracked (Warranty)
                  8. Clutch switch kaput
                  9. Self Motor also showing problems. Engine shuts and doesnt crank. The self fails and sounds like a mixi motor. After a few minutes it works.
                  10. Its a huge list. Many more things to do.

My bike had a faulty Roll Over sensor for the first 5K kms of its life, so its not necessary that the bike will not start

The bolts are allen key based, you go ahead and open it yourself then!

My manual has no where specified the fork oil volume. IIRC, even the bottle says 300ml. Anyways, I'm happy with 310ml, its the perfect balance between stiff and soft for me.

I think you should reserve the soft rider comment till you actually see me ride or hear about me riding from someone else!

Clutchplates, even I am surprised that it went off so soon. It should have lasted longer despite the Leh usage. I think the batch clutch plates in which mine was changed was not upto the mark.

The Sirac will certainly last longer if you ride on 'roads'

@TP (truelypulsarian) : Your shutting down issue is 99% due to a faulty sensor. Only the diagnostic tool will tell you where the real problem is.

Thats weird. Isnt the roll-over sensor supposed to turn off the bike and not let the bike start if its tipped or tilted to an extreme angle.

Will do that. Anyhow in next service clutch would be overhauled.

If yours is the manual with red P220 on the cover page, then check page number 27,28 & 29. The quantity is mentioned in service wise part kit during services.

                          • With 350-360ml oil the Fork does not dive in as it used to be.
Earlier I got it filled with 320ml of oil ( 320ml Bottles are now discontinued).
Added another 50ml a week ago.
                            This is much better.
