      thanks for the advice!
can you tell me anything about changing my engine oil to fully synthetic, i've heard this reduces harshness.
      Is that true?
      what grade should i use?
Motul 5100 (SS) or Motul 300V (FS). I Have used both, used 300V for more than 40K KMs but recently tried 5100 did not notice much difference in performance between them. try yourself and choose.

      Use 15W40 or 15W50

When is it advisable to change the front tyres?
I still run Stock MRF at the front. The rear was recently changed to MRF zapper vyde.

Also my bike's engine feels very harsh even the though the Engine oil was changed about 1000 kms back.
I am not experiencing any drop is performance.
And finally my bike's mileage is 30-33kpl in city commute, is this normal?

        Any views would be appreciated.
if u feel dat d tyres dnt gv u much grip and also if they hv become bold go 4 a change...

Which engine oil did u use?

        33 35 in city is a gr8 mileage 4 a 220cc bike...

Petrol should be avoided as it can damage disc pads. Use mild detergent instead.

there is a certain vibration which creeps in after 4500 rpm...its kind of a irritating high pitched noise..,,,when i hold the visor while driving the vibration reduces but does not go totally ...any ideas , my bikes done 16600 kms. i already had to change my chain set once.
              Cheers

Did you undergo any fall? check the fairing for any broken areas, also try to tighten the fairing screws/bolts especially the mirror screws. Search for fairing vibration in this thread and you will find n number of resolutions discussed already.

                    • Emergency problem:

It occurred today while I had just started for office. I had just crossed hardly 300 meters when I got stuck in a traffic jam. switched off the engine in order to save fuel. When I tried starting it, it refused to start. The sound that was coming was exactly like the sound when the battery is low and you try to start the bike, but was a lot louder. The bike was producing the same sound louder and louder with the turn of the wrist.

I took the bike to a nearby mechanic just to investigate. Did not let him touch it. He said, the problem is either with the bearing near the head or in the starter motor. The head mechanic came and said, the bike has probably undergone engine cease. He asked me 2-3 questions like was it producing smoke before it went like this (Ans:NO), Did it get heavily heated up few mins back and did I pour water on it (Ans:NO) and lastly Do I redline very frequently (Ans:NO)

Since yesterday I was feeling a small power drop in the bike!

Help Please!! I recently did a lot of fixing ended up spending around 9k.

Seems to me like a starter clutch issue. When you thumb the starter do you hear a whirring sound and no cranking? And is this accompanied with a low battery warning sign on the console if you try 2-3 times?

                          • Thanks a lot for the reply Praful!

oil level is on middle of both the markings, minutely nearer to lower mark.
when i thumb the starter and twist the accelerator, the sound comes produced is something of metal is trying to get into a state of motion but is heavily affected by a state of abrasion/friction by another metal pressing against. This sound continues until the bike is on (Normally without pressing the starter switch). Twisting the accelerator worsens the sound and ultimately the engine succumbs unto itself.

                            After Effects:

After this was tried 8 times approximately continuing for 2-4 secs of each trial, everything went dead except the electronics, fuel pump and the starter motor except that it was doing only a single 'kat' sound when the starter switch was pressed. The sound resembled to that of a snap of a dry twig.

Btw, I had got the piston rings changed lately.

                                Does push starting work ?

I still feel its a starter motor/clutch issue. But if really the engine has seized and as you said you have recently changed the piston rings, they the SVC center has done something grossly wrong when replacing the rings.

And you should not have smoke coming out of your exhaust, especially after a rings change!
