The problem is you can do all these experiments without too much of hassle on the DTsi but on the Fi little but issue here and can short any sensor or kill the battery even.

aint gasket...theres a big bolt above the silencer on the engine if uve noticed.....oil leaks from there...that bolt has no gasket by nature...Originally posted by krish2778 View PostGasket leak perhaps. Can you post a pic ?

that nut when opened provides access to adjust the valve clearance for the exhaust valve. If you do not see any leakage around the head area, then get that nut opened and clean that area with a cloth and fit it back. ride for a couple of days and see it if reappears. Will recommend removing the bolt and checking the threads, refit it back see if still comes. But don't fix it back with a sealent!

Gasket sealant and m-seal (i hope you know what the regular m-seal is) are two different things. Ideally you do not need to use a gasket sealant on the valve cover nut. first change your engine oil and clean that area and use the same nut (check if it seats and tightens properly without over tightening it). ride for a few days and check again, replace the nut if necessary. using a bit of gasket sealant (silicone rtv/anabond etc) will not do any harm but don't use a very thick layer.Originally posted by fernsruben View Postwill have to do that....so u mean I shouldn't use any silicon rtv gasket maker? what if I use a thin washer?

1. That bolt is not meant to be sealed because you may need to adjust the valves.
2. The area in not supposed to leak, if its leaking you may have other issues so it best not to seal it so you know when you have an issue.
How long is long when you say you haven't changed your engine oil?

...what if i use an o ring? will take the bike to the Bajaj mechs closeby and show em the prob...need to get my engine oil urgently...tho...what are the ill effects of nt changing engine oil for almost a year?

Burnt clutch plates that's what would have happened. Even if its a year, how many kilometers would you have clocked ? I don't remember if the stock mirrors have a nut at ball socket joint to tighten itself. Pull out the rubber to see if there is a screw to tighten the mirrors.
