With a Pulsar you will never know what all gets changed every few months!

Bajaj works on continual improvement of all its bikes, that's why the bikes are pretty low on quality at the start of their lifecycle i.e. the P220 Fi, and now at the end of its life the P220 Dts-i speed lines , feels way better on quality over (my) first gen 220 Fi.

Most of the types the parts are not interchangeable and need complete component changes.

An observation I made. Mine is a may 2010 model 220F and post crash 2012 i had the rear cowl and fairing changed and the quality of the fiber parts i felt was inferior, kinda flimsy and paint quality was a let down too. The finished product was not as smooth as you would expect. So for me the experience was opposite.
But the headlight unit had some changes and I liked that, but not sure how much it attributes towards it's quality.

The tail lamp holders on the rear cowl would break on the 220 Fi's within a few months or earlier if you ride on bad/off roads.

The dtsi one does not break that easily, mine was replaced in 2010 with the Dtsi one and its broken now after years.

Fiber quality in my books has gone up, don't have data but the metallurgy seems to have improved too.

I guess they should, after all with big partners, they do learn some good skills from KTM especially from metallurgy and quality fiber parts, and if this know-how is dripped down to the street level, then Bajaj has got even more happy customers.

But definitely the parts that come from factory have their standards as opposed to the same getting replaced with their "BAJAJ genuine parts". For the most part, it's more or less the same, IMHO, but yes, in Bajaj anything, can happen, any friggin time.

                  Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                  The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                  THE END

The rear cowl mount points in mine had broken after 2 years of useage. So i guess you sre right there. And it broke du to excess trbelling in broken roads which was the case till sometime back.

I did have the same feeling, that the spares we get from bajaj are pretty much lesser quality or lasts lesser than the stock parts did. And the main part i feel is the rear brake pads. Those buggers just eat their way out much faster than the front one's and i hardely use the rear pads..!!!

My taillight mounts broke after 3 years of very rough use....i never slow down on hills...ehh...speedbreaker hills......and bike just makes a noise....though I do not care much....i ride into potholes....though have tried to rectify my habits....but would say from my experience pulsar fiber parts quality has gone up.....also in a crash..my crashbar bent completely and even handlebar weights were damaged..but the rear and front coul are intact..even though they still show the glory of my stupid cornering with that friggin center stand :P
I escaped scratchless.. Just that my thigh bone remained to pain for a few days....hehe

Well...feels nice to know that they have increased the quality of the bike. Goes a long way in increasing the sales figures.

agree...but they've kept the price quite reasonable...p220f sells at 81k on road..

even the wiring is of excellent quality....the gold powder coating on the engine...the metal braided hydraulic cables....more durable plasto,..
