b _ by four months gap in serv bike was never idle, it has travelled quite a distance.
Ah..as simple as that. I thought it was a fi. Obviously because you posted here and din mention it being a carb bike.

my friends fi is acting weird lately ,actually it may hav started 6 months back when the bike was left for service in autoservice were the mech directed the hid i.e it can be switched on directly with default switch,so i think he may have messed up the wirings, that time the stock battery was replaced as it was kaput after 4 yrs to amaron but even after that he always used to get low battery icon and bike refused to start once in a month or so..
but now from 3 weeks as soon as he turns off the engine kill switch the netural light go fully dim while flickering and speedo also goes dim and the fuel injector keeps on making hmmmmm sound and never stops(as it should stop after about 5 secs in normal operation)...but the neutral light will glow in full brightness if the engine kill switch is in on state.. so when enquired in autoservice they said fuel injector may have gone bad or the wiring ..
what could be the reason can the fuel injector/pump go bad this early.btw he has ridden no of times in reserve

PS mileage 29xxxkm, 6 months old amaron (tested with more then a couple of shops and its in perfect condiction)

hey guys...is the fi's humming sound meant to stop after starting the bike(ignition) or does it continue on...?

            Hi guys!
My Pulsar 220-FI has done around 25k kms. I use it very rarely (whenever i go home for vacation). Its been admitted at ProBiking workshop for more than a month now because it would not switch on. The guys at the Workshop tell me that the ECM needs to be replaced. I have been facing problems with the bike since the last year. I would like to convert the bike to the carburetor version( due to ease of maintenance and availability of parts) . Could you tell me if this is possible? If it is, what are the components that i ll have to change and what would be the cost incurred?

Do search this thread, I am almost sure that this descussion has been done here, and AFAIR the final output was , it is not worth the investment, If you badly want a carb version then I suggest you sell this and get a second hand carb 220F or even a new one if you can handle the finances.

I guess somewhere I remember reading about the conversion I might be wrong. But the time and moolah it takes to convert the FI to a carb, you can sell this one and get the carb version for peace of mind and not repeated visits to PBK for niggling issues after conversion.

When you hit the engine kill switch the fuel pump starts priming the fuel lines. once primed it stops.

Now when you switch ON the engine the pump starts priming the lines again. This will continue till the engine is running.

After all the motor needs to pump to spray the fuel right, it is indeed supposed to run with that low humming -- not humming, but that's a sexy sound FI start up is always cool. The reason I was misleaded because of your stating the pump goes on and on and on right from the ignition on.

So here is Praful in Ooty.
