      • So the new pump I got installed on Saturday, was making funny loud noises. So I thought its a new pump maybe it needs running in

Did a small 120Km ride, bike seems to be running perfectly fine.

What ruined my Monday was, I come down all ready to go to office and see the engine block all wet. And I'm wondering which stupid dog pee'd on the engine and that too so high. Only to realize that fuel was leaking from the pump Now this is a MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR fire hazard. Luckily nothing untoward happened. So instead of office I had to rush to PBK to remind them that they still are ultra lame can't do basic jobs. Tired of reprimanding them! :-/

Got the meter checked as well, looks like its done for. Only two options left now, either get a new meter OR get this meter 'fixed' by an external meter guy, but no reliable guarantee of this work. There go my 94K Kms on the odo ... Even if I get a new meter, will get the reading set to the desired value, I think the meter guy should be able to do this

Oh boy, Praf that's real bad, I think you shouldn't have posted the picture of the fuel pump, jinxed it I guess.

Can one get the old mileage back on the speedo? eagerly waiting for the results.

          Best of luck mate.

          Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

          • Has anyone ever tried Ceat Vertigo Sport 100/90 17 as a front tyre ? It is 10mm bigger than the recommended size but i am not sure how the bike would behave with knobbies instead of directional treads on the front.

            My purpose:
Purely touring on broken/off-road sections on the mountains. The bike is not used for daily commuting.

Old Fox used it on his Duke 200, another gentleman I met whose name I forget, who rides in the Raid, also uses that tyre on his duke 200. If it is good enough for the duke, then am sure it will be good for the 220.

OF and Vivek Sharma (I remember his name now) both use their bikes for commuting as well.

Oh and these are not knobbies, these are DPs!
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

You might need to remove the front mud guard since this would taller than the stock tyre.

You can also PM Ken, he was using some knobby tyres for his front on his 220.

Good then, time for the "Return of the 220 to Ladakh" this year then!

Edit: Thanks Praful. Wouldn't it be "wider" than taller ? Will PM Ken too.

Nope it makes it taller, because the rim size is the same. As Praful said, the front mudguard might have to be altered.

The KTM with the tyre in question being ridden on the Buddh International Circuit

He had better mid corner speeds, than most on SBKs and had zero chicken strips on the tyre

Wider is fine, i've been running 100 section tyres for quite sometime now. But this much 'taller', your speedo/odo readings will be off by large margin.

Interested to see how this pans out.

Can you give more details of both the front and rear tyres ?

CEAT's used to fish tail like crazy in wet last I heard. Interested to see how the torquey Duke is handling this...

This will only work if you have 35W HID's not with the stock 55W Halogens!

Okay add 35W bulbs to both up & low.
But, the problem gonna be same, right ?

The overheat problem in High Beam ?
Just a bit of difference is like :

If 55W heats in 1 hour
                                35W would take 1.5 hour

But it will melt the Glass for sure ?

I'm working on adding some waterproof affordable lights on the Fairing Grills (The mesh on both side of lights.)
Will update on xBhp once its done.
First I was Scared But then We Made a Deal
