Ah shifting base on a 220...you can't help it but cops will always notice you.

I had posted about this in another thread, but can't seem to find it at the moment.

      But here's a brief overview :-

There are 2 ways of going about it, all depending on the duration of your stay.

      1. If you will be permanently moving to Pune
Get a NOC from the RTO where your bike is registered. Once you get a NOC, you have to pay the Life-time road tax for Maharastra and get your registration changed to a MH one.
Once you have got the receipt of payment for Life time road tax in MH, you can produce the slip at your WB RTO and a refund of a differential amount of the Life time road tax paid at WB.

      2. If you are moving on a temporary basis.
All you need to do is get your bike to MH, go to the nearest RTO and payup the Life time road tax. Earlier there used to be temporary tax which can be payed in slabs of 6months, 1 year, 2 years etc etc....and you can happily ride in MH without issues. You can even take the refund of life time road tax from WB, once you have paid in MH.

      3. The cowboy way <Bonus Level>
Or you could simply ride in MH, and pay a fine whenever caught. Thats what I do in Bangalore, simply because the tax amount here is huge, and I am not sure where I could be a few months down the line.

Disclaimer: Running rounds of RTO can cause acute psychosis!

NOTE: Rules/Taxation varies from state to state. So for finer details, try contacting the RTO's in person/online.

No necessarily, Pune could just turn out to be more or less the same as Kol.

Do transport your bike safely, the fairing and other plastic bits at times tend to take a lot of damage.

There are a couple of PBK's here in Pune which are really good...i can remeber of one i.e at FC Road .... and may be NV(Niranjan) would be able to help on this more as he recently got the 2nd service done on his 220 and after that he was looking really happy !!

@ BeastRider : Its perfectly your call whether you wanna service the bike there in kolkata or here in pune..!

Things would be simpler if you assume that they all are careless!

That way its makes you really happy when they exceed expectations!

I have been going to them since april 07 and must have visited them atleast once in two months for small niggles and 10-12 times for service.you wouldn't even wanna know how they work.

one instance for eg. - tightening screws with hand because the mechanic would have to walk 20 paces to get a spanner.

Dunno buddy, whether they are careless or not(basically due to the fact that i dont own a 220)....but rather heard that they are good as suggested by Chetan(chetanpulsar), Niranjan(niranjanvaidya) and Ritwik(ritwik.23)..!!

But, one thing will have to say the service ppl at Bajaj PBK are not at all trained for the technology used by Bajaj....most of them dont even come to know of the exact problem...

Careless, yes...but not that bad. All you need to do is sit there when you take your bike for a service.
They have cured chetan's vibes...ritwik's small issues...though this has more to do with ritwik's understanding about mechanical engineering...
I have also serviced my bike there and the most horrible thing that I have always seen at every service station is that they rev the engine hard immediately after an oil change. They do not allow the oil to circulate...no warm up...just pin the throttle all the way to the max...
That according to me is a mark of utter negligence. If one can avoid that, the PBK is ok.
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.
