Bajaj Probiking what a bloody waste!
Left my bike for 4 days at the PBK get 2 of my long standing issues resolved. Only to be told that the bike is 'Old' @ 33K and nothing can be done about it.
Cud'nt control myself and blew my top at the mech, then after 4 days he finally gets a brainwave that he shud ask his senior about my issue. Senior gets to work and finds the route cause in 15 mins. Now I have to leave the bike with them for 3-4 days again as they need to open the engine...AGAIN!
A bearing somewhere is in suspect. And down goes my weekend ride plans!
After these many kms I realized that its not the bike that is unreliable. Its the pathetic service that we get along with that make it unreliable. But the sad thing is the story of pathetic servicing is same everywhere with every manufacturer. Its only certain individual SVC's that actually have a dedicated lot of mechs!
And you said it! Is the problem that the training for the mechs is insufficient or is it simply that they just aren't motivated enough? Do they associate themselves with the 'Pro Biking' experience?Riot Engine |Norton WD 16H | BSA C11G |Enfield Fury
Thanks to Mr. Muthukumar, B&QRest Garage for these acquaintances!

Is there any reason you did not do it in AS where you normally do it? If this issue happened in AS, it is shocking. I find they service it better than the PBK atleast.Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostBajaj Probiking what a bloody waste!

I have lost faith in the Bajaj PBK since one of the mechs there ripped the bike to its max during run in period in neutral. His explanation was he was checking out the engine sound for vibrations and also this way the fuel filter will be cleaned, acc to him.

Khivraj is supposed to be the holy grail when it comes the worst off PBK's!Originally posted by MavericK46 View PostTried Khivraj on Kasturba road..?
IIRC, Khivraj Bajaj is a PBK right..?
This is the secondary PBK in Bangalore.Originally posted by theslayer View PostWhich probiking was this bro? Chennai or Bangalore?

You are spot on about the mech's not being motivated enough. And quite frankly there nothing that they would be finding motivating for this job. The mech just needs to service as many bikes as possible in a month to get his pay. And it his level, to expect anything more would actually be quite foolish. Can't blame them either, they need to earn their bread and butter for their family!

Ask me about troubles at ASC..... My two stories with two new(awesome) vehicles by two different manufacturers have taught me enough on how well a new bike and its owner can be really screwed up to the point of pissing one off, and how u can screw them back and get the job done!!!
P.S: Have u tried the option of emailing BAJAJ?
I have a ready template, can send u if u want....

Mailing Bajaj is not going to get the mech enthu about servicing my bike the next time!Originally posted by Aparajith View PostAsk me about troubles at ASC..... I guess the next time I'd just have take my bike to a local mech for issues like these!_________________________

Apar is right.
This apathy is common across all manufacturers. An example being, I was quite happy with the Honda SC until my Uni ran into some trouble.
Several months of running around SC's all over Bangalore didn't help. The SC's are competent enough only to perform basic maintenance procedures methinks.
@Praful : Apar's experience sums up TVS and YMIL's behaviour. And your's with Bajaj PBKs. Now all that remains is HH and im sure they won't disappoint by beating the trend either
Perhaps you could pay a visit to Harsha near Yediyur lake. Prajwal etc recommend him highly.I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.

I don't mean to sound pedantic, but since to clean it you already have to take the filter out already, so is it not possible to bring one or two new filters along and just replace it when needed?Originally posted by Prongs View PostWell is it a way of cleaning the fuel filter....???

Im not familiar with how their work was before but after I gave my bike for servicing there I didn't find it any different from the other PBKs. They botched the wheel alignment and the chain was too tight and I dont know how because they didnt remove the wheel. Im glad there's a group of well informed people in here to help out when in need.Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostThis is AS only!
