            bro as far as i understand ur bike is facing a problm in ECU/solenoid...because when i went to get my bike serviced one of the guys over there was also having the same problm so the mechanic over there said tat the problm is with solenoid..n they did something dun knw exactly cz it was nt my bike....bt that guy's bike was from 2007 or early 2008 batch....

            wen did u buy ur bike??

            n i think the prblm is something wrong with ECU as u said it works fine for 1-2kms then again it ends up in problm so it must be with ECU...so get it checked....

            if u dun mind i can give u the number of the engineer from where i get my bike serviced in delhi he can help u cz he knows hell lot abt bikes n identifies the exact problm...

              Bike Damage:
              RHS fairing, a big scratch.
              LHS fairing, bent a bit out of shape coz of impact with cow.
              Silencer: has come unscrewed and now my bike sounds more like a Yezdi
              Handling has gone bonkers.
              Headlights were fine.

              We decided to continue the trip as the roorkie and haridwar showrooms were downright rude. Straight away "No 220".I asked that atleast a mechanic would be available and they said.. its Saturday na.

              Anyway, job done in haridwar we headed back finally at 4:30 in the evening.
              Night riding in the haridwar noida route is horrifying to say the least. Oncoming traffic simply believes that bikes dont exist. Since bro was in a bad shape we stopped at roorkie for an hour.
              If things werent bad enough, suddenly, i ran over a pothole and the high beam went off and the low beam started focussing on the trees.
              For 5 hours i drove using other peoples headlights, dhaba tubelights , tail lights and oncoming traffic. All this while i was already in pain because of a TT shot

              Feel sorry for my bike. Its as if it cries with every throttle burst i give it now.

              Strange occurence: At 5th gear 4k rpm my bike used to do 54kmph. Now its doing 59kmph. No idea why.
              yr first of all so sad to hear abt the mishap....

              get well soon guys n please be careful from next time n dun give ur bike to any new person especially on highways even if they have done trips on highways cz each n every bike differs...atleast the person shud have rode a p220 so tat he knows hw it works...

              so jus be careful from next time....n yr riding gear ke bina kyu tha?!!???it is most important....so jus make sure u have them next time...

              n yr jo aapki problm hai uske do reason ho sakte hai...ek toh front tyre mein air pressure zyada hoga ya tyre mein kch imbalance hoga...jus chck it out cz my bike maintains a speed of 57 at 4krpm n once it it showed a speed of 65 or so @4k rpm n i was shocked....then wen i got the air chckd i found it to be arnd 38....i was cursing the person who filled the air in previous visit...
              n tat too i found this out wen i was out on drive on a highway...

                I bought my bike in Feb 2009, but the bike was from a 2008 lot (as told by the Pbk guys) it has done just 1100 kms..

                And yeah pls PM me the number of that guy...it will surely be helpful...

                • Last week in bangalore- mysore highway i managed to hit 117km/hr at full throttle in my one year old 220. i had a pillion and we both were wearing bulky denim jackets. we didnt crouch down too. i am happy with my bikes performance. but i really wanna know whether this is the best a 220 can do????

                    It can do better....I've done 125 on NICE road with a pillion without crouching. I'm sure people have done more!

                    Top speed is affected by too many variables and one the biggest being wind! You will hit a different topspeed on different days!

                      With a pillion the best I could do without crouching is 125 kmph on the same highway at around 10K rpm.

                            Thanks buddy i am fit. My bike isn't. Riding gear ke naam pe helmet and armoured jacket toh pehna thaa. Had lost the gloves and i never bought the knee pad. Need to get it once i am done with my bike repairs.
                            About the tyre pressure thing: Interesting observation. Will surely check

                                Dude, I really think you need to give 4 proper hours to your bike. Go to a mechanic. Tell him this repeated re tuning won't work. You haven't paid for your bike so that you need to go to them every 200 kms. Give them a good blast. Tell them all the possibilities. Your situation is nothing like I have ever heard before. If I was in your shoes, I would really spend a good half a day at the PBK service, solve it once and for all. Because in the end, just think about it, when you paid for the bike, you have also paid for proper service/warranty. It is wrong for it to come up again and again. If mechanic does not solve it, go higher up. Talk to the manager and ask him to replace the whole bike under warranty!

                                P.S: A friend of mine had done this since his first 220 gave him so much problems like engine getting cut off in middle of nowhere/refusing to start in the morning etc etc.
