Bro, AFAIK, VP4T is a 20W50 oil. I have used about 5 cans of it and i am quite sure about it.

Yup... its a 20W50 oil... but I don't think there should be any issues mixing 15W50 mineral and 20W50 semi-syn...

                • mixing oils is no problem. only that if one oil has turned bad, the other gets contaminated quickly. As such, that's what we do when we change oil. How much ever you drain, there's still 200-300 ml oil left in the engine and you add new oil to that... think of it... and that's the way it works.

Guys, hear it from the Horse's mouth.

Will Mixing Synthetic with Conventional Oil Cause a Gel to Form?

                    • This is what the Horse said:
In general, oils should be compatible with each other. It is not likely that you would form gel by mixing the two oils. However, we would not recommend mixing oils as a general practice because oils are complex mixtures of additives and base oils that can be destabilized. Lastly, why reduce the outstanding performance of Mobil 1 by adding “regular oil”. Is it economics? You would be better to run all Mobil 1 and run it longer than mixing it with “regular oil”.
The Donkey (HydBiker ) said something two posts earlier. Think of the scenario the Donkey gave. As such, Donkey didn't suggest to mix like 500 ml mineral oil from SC to 500 ml VP4T and then add it to the bike... Even that shouldn't be an issue as every oil comes with stabilizing agents so that there are no reactions between different compounds. If otherwise, the 200 ml odd oil remaining in the engine when you drain is enough to screw up your new oil and your engine.

The issue can be performance related.. you will get mixed results...

+1. That has been my point exactly. But mine is more from experience. I have been running on 1000ml Motul 300V + 200ml Castrol 4T 20W50 for 9K+ kms. No problems.

                        • My Brother's RTR runs on Synthetic. When its level drops after a few K KMs we add in required amount of Honda mineral oil It works perfectly fine... yes, the smoothness gets affected a tiny bit.
