I am not sure If I am right but The Karizmas fairing did not break after a nasty crash I had on my Goa Trip.In fact the RHS has a 2 inch crack and the fairing is held by 4 screws and one screw for the RHS and 2 for the LHS are broken.Still the fairing has no Vibes and is Intact.I Crashed on the first day of my 2800 kms trip and completed the trip without any issues. The fairing is pretty strong when you compare it to the R15.+

Ya, i know of that .... but i had mentioned it out of my personal experience when i had a crash in which the RHS front fairing was cracked + one of the screws was missing.....due to this the front fairing used to vibrate a bit..

Now i have anyways got it replaced with a new one....now no vibrations at all...!!!

          • well, im speaking about my rear panels. The LHS has cracked at the helmet hanger mounting point while the RHS has cracked at the point where it is screwed with the tail light assembly. Thing rattles over potholes and bumpy roads. Al this without having dropped the bike! Which is why I am a bit dissappointed. the chassis, cycle parts and engine are great but the ABS stuff does not live up to the Honda build quality. Atleast not my bike.

                • @All : The Uni that Ive been riding for the past three years has been plagued by several niggles of late. Hence, i decided that its best i sell her and get myself a new bike.

After lots of reading, gathering opinions etc i decided on purchasing a Zma R
Ive been going through all the posts in this Ownership thread and haven't been discouraged from my decision in any way whatsoever.
So since my Zma plans are down to the final phase, i had a couple of questions to ask of you Zma owners :

1). Anything i oughta keep in mind while buying the Zma R..?
2). Any quirks particular to the Zma that i oughta be prepared for, right now or in the future perhaps..?

Any suggestions etc that you guys could help me with will be much appreciated

                  Thanks in advance.

                  Cheers..!!

                  • Apart from the usual Pre-delivery checklist you must follow...

Check Engine oil level at time of delivery and also after every free service. It has happened in many service stations that they put in 700ml instead of the 9xx required.

umm.. I am trying hard to think of something ... .

No. Thats it I guess. Its literally - fill it , shut it, forget it bike - at least in my experience. Maybe they should revive that old CD 100 ad

                    • ^^ Thanks for racking your brains and posting the solitary tip Sandeep
I remember that CD100 ad perfectly. It'll be amazing if the Zma shares the very same atrributes, though it makes roughly 10PS more than the CD

                      • I am saying what I have experienced. I am sure there are many people who have had worse, or very bad experiences ..

If you are going to do the regular maintenance stuff properly, I think , compared to other models, this one is relatively trouble free.

                        Minor shortcomings ?

You could complain about the plastics being flimsy - some people have broken sidepanels etc

Rear brakes lose their sharpness after a few kms but its ok - not like on a P200. It still works very well

Stock lighting is good - but you will be better off with at least a 60/55 halonix/silverstar.

All these are post-purchase things you might be interested in. But generally speaking - I would like to say its really hasslefree for daily use.

The panels of the Karizma are really strong. But, the main problem is the weak joints. I had two falls and everytime, the panels were very good, but the joints were broken. Same problem with the rear cowls, all the joints were broken and I had to replace them.

                              • @maverick46 stick your eyes on the speedo (atleast for first 100kms) coz you`ll easily get fooled. Maintain below 5000 revs during first 500kms.
Dont wanna miss that look on your face when i blow past you.
