  • That should be ok.
First of all change the engine oil immediatly.
For the ride, Just keep varying the RPMs, gears. Keep doing the cycles where u go up to an RPM and let the enjine coast down to 3k, with out using break or clutch and repeat, slowly raising the RPM level over cycles. do it in all gears. And give rest of 10-15 mins after every 30-40 kms.

Thus i completed my runin/breakin in 500 kms and had touched 8k in all the gears by that time.

      • fairng noise reduction

i've used a silicon RTV rubber sealent to supress the noise...

actually some of the tiny pieces inside the fairing were broken.. itwas makin a hell lotta noise...
so opened the fairing fixed the broken pieceswith Araldite n M seal.. strenthened the other screw holders...
applied the rubber sealent on the top part of the speedo where the fairing touches the speedo..
now the fairing does not make ne noise n is much stronger

i have uploaded some pics on orkut

First, check for the loose connections in the fairings..!! If they would be there then get them tightened..!

Also check for any Rubber bushings that might have been lost, worned out or hardened.

              • Ha ha ha... recenly I observed that in HH service stations, the mechanics are not bothered to refit the small rubber parts and screws after opening the parts. Sometimes they use them for some other bikes. They will misplace those small things. The twist here is no spares center stocks these small rubber parts and fairing screws. For faring screws of Karizma I had to roam four authorized centers around Hyderabad. I never was able to get those handle bar rubbers for karizma since last year, also the rubber bush that seats headlight base.

The following reasons might be the reason for the virbation in fairing.
                1. The rubber bushes where headlight sits is not fitted/misplaced.
                2. Broken joints inside the fairings (most probable case if the bike has a fall)
                3. The fairing is not properly placed while fitting it.

Check for the above, and the vibration will be gone. If fairing joints have broken, the only option is to replace the entire fairing.

                • Dudes, you should take it up 1st with the head of the service centre and then Hero Honda, if necessary. Don't waste too much time arguing with the mechs/supervisors. You can just call up their head office also. Get the tel num of the company service engg. of your area. Tell them how the mechs messed up your bike... and you expect them to arrange for the spares and fix them. Don't run around.

As long as you remain tolerant, nothing will ever change.

i`m using the stock handle so the handle bar does come in the way..but yeah u can get a view of the rear traffic especially when u wanna take those left or right turns..if i put a short handle bar then 100% i`ll get the rear view of the traffic..right now the view is approx 60% which is good enough..the best part it doesnt vibrate and doesnt makes those annoying vibrating noises..these mirrors gives the bike a more sportier look..dont u think so?

So, do you plan to install the P220 handle for that purpose..?

p.s : I have actually see some ZiMAs with P220's handle..!

And it does give a sporty look but i m pretty amazed to hear that it doesn't vibrate..

I personaly didnt like it. And I feel it will be of no use specially when u are wearing a jacket. Even with the stock mirrors if I wear a jacket I dont get a full view.
