  • yeah it doesnt vibrate coz i`ve put a rubber padding along with a horn patti beneath the fairing where the mirror bolts r tightened..it gives the mirror a solid fit..no i dont intend to change the handle as it messes up with the clutch, acceleration etc...any modification other than screwing around with the engine is ok with me...
i asked the hh mechanic whether i should go in for an iridium plug..he said to stick to the stock plug..if iridium was any good hh company itself would have given it as a stock plug.

And then rise the price of the bike by Rs 500??? well, he doesn't know about the iridium plug. simple. well, for that matter, even I am unsure about its VFM at Rs 550. May be the platinum G shock at Rs 130 is a very good choice. Regular one costs Rs 65 in NGK and may be Rs 50 in Champion.

            It could be two things
            1) Regular HH / Honda way they'd have hiked up the prices of anything related to their premium bike
            2) They were still importing those plugs then

You have your stock plug... get the same plug from the NGK distributor and see... you can call up on 9848060099 and speak to the distributor. NGK DPR8EA-9 is used only in HH Karizma, CBZ and Ambition in India. And we know that all of them share the same engine block.

Yeah... hope you did not throw away ur pads... keep them safe for hunting purposes next time. Also, Nissin pads have a model number written behind each of the pads... quote those numbers and let someone bring them for you from outside India... check at planetDSG also!

If nothing works out, pls let me know... I can get those cheapo ones from the market, wipe off the name with a thinner and print NISSIN on them and sell it to you at double the cost. This way I make some money an dyou'd be glad you got Nissin

When my bike was 8000-km old, I changed the spark plug and purchased this NGK from HH spares shop for around 270 bucks. The normal champion Sparkplug was 85 bucks and still the same now. Right now my bike is running on NGK Iridium plug which is 550 bucks.

Yesterday I found the break pads have worn out. Did not feel like spending 1750 for those nissin pads. The price is really ridiculous. Finally settled for normal pads which costed me only 120 bucks. The company name is "Xing" (not santro xing). No details about the manufacturer, but found the finishing of the pads to be good than the ASK pads (100 bucks). Yet to see how they perform.

I found the thread of the Allen screw that holds the break pads has gone. Could not get that at any spare shops. Finally got hold of one from a known mechanic who got it for his karizma. Lucky me. I was not knowing what to do if the screw is not available. The price of the screw is 198 bucks.

It is better to change every 12k to 15k. Also replace the fork oil every 15k. Air filter too at 12k to 15k.

In my opinion, it is not the mileage that determines whether to change the plug or not. It is the color of the plug head that is the governing factor

i think most bikes use 5W or 10W oil. But u don't have many choices available in the market... Escorts oil is available for Rs 55 and Motul for abt a 100 and there are much cheaper ones. It is generally sold in 350 ML packings - sufficient for two forks.

Check your manual for change interval and also check the Q&A section on NGK website... they gave some 9 different ways of spark plug going bad.
