I don't understand why you have taken it personally. I had posted in a very generic manner. Coming to the point...If you know what's the mileage that was giving before then I would worry. For eg. If my ZMA was giving 60kmpl and suddenly dropped to 22kmpl then I would worry. Riding style would also be thought before coming to a conclusion on the poor performance!

Also, if you look at the posts offlate, it's only about the mileage they are concerned. They do not give any description of their possession nor they come up with details. I'm really surprised.

Mileage is needed for diagnosis and analyse on how to make it better.
Agreed, it is one way to know how the bike performs and hope you know this as well that mileage is not a complete diagnose of all the problems a bike has, correct? There's a lot more to it.

There also tends to ask a question as to why people chose zma instead of commuter/mileage bikes?

If your comet did not average the expected mileage then it is not performance. If your comet is not topping the speed as company claims, there is a problem. ZMA is no match to Comet I agree. It's an unique bike in my opinion.

(N my zma gives me 40-42 kmpl)
Just meant to say that , Its not a primary factor in the bike ,
But something which shouldnt be ignored either.

I just discovered that my ZMA returned a FE of 27kmpl in city traffic. Most of the times I ride >5rpm and hardly get chance to put my 5th gear .
Will have a check up this weekend.

O T ....What is the comet's FE in city(<80Kmph) and on highway(80 to 130 kmph)..and parts like chain and sprocket, clutch plates are available ?
Interested to know since Pre-owned Comets are coming up for sale and I am interested...

You get 40 in your ZMA-R in city ? what is your riding style and any mods ?

I think it is your riding style...try shifting around 3 to 3.5 K RPM and do not exceed 4.5K in city...you will get 34 to 35 Kms/L

Painful as it is to see the bike vandalized , it was the choice of words that you had used, which brought a smile on my face.....We have much worse ones here..people who autograph the bike /car. After I had painstakingly cleaned and polished my Lancer, some **** had scratched words " WOW " right across the front bonnet with letters as big as one foot each...And my bike's seat was cut up randomly with blade while parked in a Electronics market area...I had been riding since I was 15 and now i am 59...so you can imagine the encounters and pain I had been repeatedly subjected to.
Regarding the FE please check your Air Filter, and change it...Bangalore traffic is so bad , where do you get the chance to take it up to 5K rpm ? Don't tell me you have never gone above the 3rd gear and keep the RPM always high....

Congratulation...what is the color and how many kms have you done ?
For fixing a leg guard you have to remove the lower Fairing and CBZ X leg guard will fit in ZMA-R....
                    .

Congratulations on the new ride. Where in Mumbai do you live?

I have plonked in crash guard on my ZMA R. It is easily available at the scooter shops in Grant Road. Should you need any help for sourcing it, do let me know.
