The leg guard is a must..it not only saves your leg and lower areas, but also the fairing too....and ZMA fairings are just waiting for an excuse to have cracks.
Have you changed the engine oil at 250 Kms ?
    Try a JASO MA2 20 W 40 mineral oil..it will reduce engine heating

Regarding the FE please check your Air Filter, and change it...Bangalore traffic is so bad , where do you get the chance to take it up to 5K rpm ? Don't tell me you have never gone above the 3rd gear and keep the RPM always high....
Hey I was just kidding Bro...don't take it offensive. Didn't know you are 59...must have encountered lot of monkeys(both four feeted and twin feeted) in your riding era.
My K&N has not been cleaned from last 15k...may be thats the reason of low FE

I was planning for this from long time, didn't know cbz x fits. Didn't want to put some after market stuff. Will get it done soon, safety comes first...not the looks!!!

No i haven't changed the engine oil at 250.now i need to take my bike for the first servicing.
Service centers guys said after 500km i can do the servicing any time.I will recommend them this oil change.Yeah ZMA fairings are delicate

No I did not take it in the wrong sense....Just felt bad at knowing what these sadists do...so was trying to make the situation a little light.
My K&N has not been cleaned from last 15k...may be thats the reason of low FE
Hhhmmmmm...I think changing your Air Filter to stock paper type will do a lot of good to your engine...since K&N or any cotton air filters are not as good at filtering dust like stock paper filters...Paper filters will give you better engine life.

True..I have no personal exp., in fixing the CBZ X guard...only what is posted in this thread with pictures...My ZMA has a crash bar which I have plans to change....

Please be present when the oil is changed..just to ensure it is done properly...They have to totally drain the old oil and then fill in 900 ml of fresh engine oil.

The frequency of oil change depends on your riding style and engine condition...going by thumb rule mineral engine oil of 20W40 should be changed every 2,000 Kms.
HH recommends only 10W30 as stock oil....this becomes black and wasted in 800 Kms..... you may buy the 20W40 oil outside and you have to request HH to use it.
Originally all Karizmas came with 20W40 only.

As per my personal experience, the svc guys won't put any oil other than HH 10W30. But here in the link it shows 20W40

Motul 300V 15w50 fs oil is the best oil I have used till date.Use this oil after having 5k kms on ODO. Don't tell your svc guys that you are using it, they vil scare you by telling that it will void your warranty !!!

Like Amit said AFTER 5 K Kms you can try the Fully Synth oil..till then better to use the mineral 20W40 oil..I am using Gulf Pride 4T plus 20W40 with good results. You can try Motul , Gulf, Shell....Do not go for Castrol since there are many fakes..You can also try Yama lube, which is Motul with Yama sticker...a mineral oil of any of these manufacturer will be around 200/- per liter .
You should look for JASO MA2 compliance and 20w40 in grade.

Amit it is the write up given at the early stage of Karizma Launch, and even the power indicated is less than 17 hp.....From ZMA-R they have changed the oil to 10w30.

Of interest here is the Fact the Max speed is 125 Kmph..Speedo indicated 145 kmph..

When I bought my pre-owned ZMA it had HH oil changed just about 1 k Kms before..It looked black and thick, so I drained it and filled with Gulf Pride 4T plus. The changes were a smooth engine with clear gear changes, and less vibes..Of course the revving was not as quick as with 10w30...but after 700 Kms the oil looks and feels the same as new..

Even I have tried Gulf Pride 4T this time for a change, after using Castrol Power 1 for a long time. Feeling better. Lets see how it behaves after 1k mark.

Even for me gear shits were quite rough at early stages but now its fine but still bringing it to the neutral gear position is a mess sometimes.
