The paid is two types. One is because of riding position. I believe you are trying to ride with less weight on your hands/palms. But that still needs some getting used to and will take more time.

The second one is particularly on the right hand palm near the wrist joint on the outer bone (under the little finger). This one is due to the weight transfer on the hand while braking. Happens much in the city. My remedy - get some gloves that have good padding on the mentioned outer bone. For me, the R15 branded gloves do the job very well.

I have also heard this rumour in some other web-sites including 'motorbeam'!
It is a great human tendency especially in our country to feel proud of knowing something that others might not know yet/well. And obviously one would want to tell people about such a thing he knows just to feel good if not anything else.

And, it is the mechanics or someone else who do such comments and not the right people. Mechanics don't need to bother about sales. Do they? And, if they can think that well, they would probably own a garage in a few years.

Come on mate use common sense, the R15 has been for sale for like 2 years only. I am not sure if yamaha would have broke even with respect to the research and manufacturing cost for the bike even with the kinds sales it is getting. So common sense says that they will flog the bike for a lot of years like other manufacturers until they break even. Ofcourse yearly upgrades will be done like new colours and minor upgrades. If you wanna keep waiting these will keep coming yearly. That way you won't be able to purchase at all playing the waiting game. Just my 2 cents.

@Satish: So when are you booking yours?

Well said. Its only 1.5 yrs for R15 and Yamaha will not close down its assembly for R15 unless n until it recovers all the manufacturing cost, and this is the strategy followed by all manufacturing company.
So please dont hear what these service guys says and better enjoy the product which is available. I guess service guys should concentrate on the servicing rather than future predicitions.

Yes anna, you've hit the nail on the head there.

Yeah, I am a lil overweight so maybe when braking the stress on the wrist is a bit too much..
Will get gloves.. Rs.1950 for the R15 gloves rite? I hope venkatesha motors has them. Need a tank pad too (some how I didnt like that 1 piece tankpad from yamaha, I like the one that looks like a bigger version of the ones on pulsars)

You are probably running rich, higher temperature and denser air.
I guess Amritsar is at a low altitude and less humid too.

Buy or borrow an FID and change CO to best suit your weather and this probably will let the engine rev free.
Ideally the service center should have it! hmm

5.after achieving some certain speeds there is some shrilling noise from the engine.
6.after leaving her in the sun for say an hour she doesn't start
for a start now i m going to give her for a service ASAP and get all the possible work done

maybe i should learn to service her myself...someone here ever did that??

There are better gloves in the market for sure. But this DSG one, though a better design than the older ones, still has that problem buckle that hurts hands. Look out for Better stuff.

In the little experience I have, I found the material on the R15 gloves to be the best. But the GPR gloves were good too. The Cramster TRG1 (abt 2K) are much better VFM than the DSG's.

To address the specific problem we discussed earlier, make sure you have good padding at the mentioned place.

                      .

Yea anna, will check the r15 gloves out in person, if they are readily available at any showroom in hyd.

Cramster gloves.. any idea where I can get them?

EDIT: Noticed I'm veering off topic, "yamaha yzf r15", sorry, will stop this here.

                          • hey guys i took delivery of sunset red r15 today from paras Yamaha Chennai.
I must add it was kinda difficult to drive in stop and go traffic..
btw guys does the engine vibrate a bit extra above 3000 revs.? i guess it is because my engine has run just 50 kms.Hoping that it will be smooth once the run in is over. Will put up photos soon.
ps: any place in chennai where i can get real good quality helmets and gloves (brands like kbc etc) . i tried mount road and the shops around thousand light but they mostly had indian brands which look so bare ..!

                              Congratulations buddy...welcome to the club.

No there is no vibration from the engine...i think its just a perception. Drive for few more kms and then it will go off..

Even if it is 24th June, it will be 1.5 yrs.only in November!

For servicing you need to get mainly engine oil. Follow the instructions in the manual to drain the old oil out. It should not be very tough.
For cleaning the air filter you need to take the tank out. Be careful while removing the fuel pump connection, else you will lose 7K in the bargain.
Clean&lube the chain well&adjusting the slack is also written in the manual.
Tighten all nuts/bolts in fairing etc.&then grease the sidestand, footpegs etc.
I suggest you don't attempt changing brakepads etc.
Coolant you can get from any petrol pump/automobile store.
What else would you like to do?
