Well when it comes to riding experience then in my opinion no bike in this segment provides the confidence which R15 instills...
Its thoroughly planted while riding, even at high revvs the engine is damn smooth and calm not screaming...
Its just one experience that's yet to be attained by other bikes.
Though it does has some drawbacks but again every bike has negatives but the advantages it has over shadow those negatives and more over there are work arounds for them as well. So if its just the matter of size proportion that is stopping you from going for this bike then buddy i would say go for it.
Or if not that go for a test ride for and you will feel each and every word i've said is true to the core.

i am 6ft 2inch ,r15 was too cramped for me only, thats why i went for fz even though i was ready with cash for the r15,
fz is a better than most indian bikes for the city due to the massive low end torque(with my r15 sprocket even more so) and road grip

Booked an ZMR????... dude you put all the technology which HH claimed to have added in their hasty launched ZMR, R15 still emerges out triumphant, its small 150cc can beat the 220. Never to forget the handling and cornering ability. I feel like leaning on my bike too often around the corners... coz i love the looks of the traffic when I do so...
Regarding your height.. Do a test ride on it.. I think it should not be a problem...

        • ^ dude, ZMR is a different kind of bike meant for different purposes, it's a really good bike too.

But you should always follow your heart, that's what'll keep u goin even if u have tough times...! :P

Buddy you can't compare FZ and R15 coz they are class apart. They are good in their respective fields serving altogether different purpose.

Regarding comfort in riding R15, as per my experience i didn't feel cramped at all. It instills more and more confidence everyday. Haven't driven ZMR so can't say the same about that.

Cramped i would say would be having discomfort with the ergonomics of the bike like the way i've felt in P220. The edges of its fairing knock on my knees so that can hurt at the time of sudden braking. Now that's what i would say little cramped. But again other advantages of the bike over shadow this negative.

This is my opinion. You may have felt different on R15 coz different people have different riding style. But when you stand next to it, it for sure feels a puny bike

Buddy don't go by just by what all we are saying or what your friends are saying. What we would say would make 30-40% of your decision the rest 60-70% lies in your hand and that depends on how you feel while riding R15 and ZMR. So go out and see what you feel on both of them.
If you feel ZMR is better and you feel more comfortable on it then that's the one waiting for you and if you feel R15 fits your requirements and clears your doubts then just go for it!!

Well yes initially a little pain is there that's coz of a change in riding stance and the posture. But it goes off as you ride for few more kms...

never experienced pain due to riding posture..even though im 6 feet tall aswell..
just one advice...even if you lean forward...make sure the spine is straight...might help avoiding any pain.

I had wrist pain for quite a few days, then Hydbiker told me to get a pair of gloves, I did, and pain went away. 5 months on, now I'm used to the posture so there's no wrist pain either way, with/without gloves.
                      Don't worry about it.

Back-ache? No. Not if you're sitting correctly, holding the tank by your knees etc

I myself am about 6feet tall and weigh around 60kgs( i am a bit lean). I only experienced wrist pain occasionally, that too when riding in heavy traffic. Other than that, I have never felt any wrist pain nor experienced any discomfort while riding. U have to just get adjusted to the correct seating posture. Yes, many of my friends too mentioned that the bike looks very small when i ride it but anyways i am never bothered about it. If u want to experience true biking and cornering, then get the R15. Otherwise if u are too bothered about other things, then it is your personal opinion as the ZMR is also a very good bike.

i was informed about the sparkplug and oil filter change in the next service..does anyone have an idea how much would these cost as im also looking for other options apart from the standard oil filters and spark plug.
also if someone would know the price of the NGK G-power spark plugs ?

go for iridium plugs @550. as per the manual, change the air filter as well.

                            • I too feel...

I own r15 from Aug'08. I too feel pain in my palm during city driving and long (more than 100kms) highway driving. Will, wearing a glove solve the problem. I am 179cms and 83 kgs. All other things I like very much and it is the only problemin riding.

If I didn't use the bike for 3/4 days the rear tyre deflates but no puncture is found. On continuous usage the pressure remains correct. Doesn't get how ?

I bought the racing blue colour, but now I've changed the colour to Red by buying the full body kit. Now it is awesome.

What i did was change the angle of the levers on the handlebars, as in lowering them slightly so that my wirst would remain straight and not bent when i would use the brake or clutch. You could try experimenting with different positions.

Same here. I overinflated tyre to about 40-45pi and then go it checked, found a small, very small puncture. But the R15 has a tendency to lose air, so keep it charged up every 2-3 days

The racing blue looks good.. though the red has a look of its own..
