I had the same issue bro, I got this after my first major crash. It went away since I had to replace the complete assembly that time ,

I had a recent brush with nature (wouldn't call it an actual crash, just that the bike skidded at low speeds on a cliff) The the fairing got some scratches, but now I can feel some vibes after 6K RPM,

am not sure how to rectify this. The service center guy once told me it could be a loose lamp shade, (lamp holder??) but they did not have stock then. so gotta wait till this weekend.. gonna check with PBK.

    Regards,

There is a disc spray available with the pbk guys...
ask him to spray tat on the calipers of disc...
The dirt locked there rushes out making ur disc working...
      And the problem is history

With your bike parked on the main stand, try to figure out what the root cause of the vibes/sounds are. In other words, find out which part's making the most noise.

You could do this by holding each part with 2 fingers and then trying to move/pull it away from its original position (of course, don't pull it too much or you'll break it a part of) the cause.

Most of the times the problem is either with a) the front visor OR, b) the fairing itself where it connects to the inner portion where the meter is housed. You can then stick pieces of rubber/leather/folded cardboards in the gap created (when you pull the part outwards); now, when you let go of the part the rubber/leather/cardboard piece will keep it stretched outwards and prevent it from making the sound again.

        Hope that helps...

I thought there was something wrong with the bearings on the front wheel, I had told the PBK guys about this during one of the services, but nothing was done. Now during my last service, I made sure the guy opened the disc, caliper and cleaned the pads, and voila, the sound was gone.... what a relief after months of mental torture as to what cud be wrong.

so I guess, just servicing the front disc will solve your issue. Good luck!

You could also try WD40, it's sort of an general purpose anti-friction/corrosive spray you get at any hardware store, but be careful not to spray any on the disc else the pads won't grip

But still i have a problem with noise coming from disc brakes like "choo choo choo" wat could be the problem ???
            2. My faring is very lose & it makes noise like anything. What can be done ????
            3. i guess its time to replace my cone set too, how much will it cost me ????
The fairing generally vibrates up and down to a certain extent, especially so in bad roads, else check the screws behind the front blinkers on the black part of the fairing, the bolting screws fell off twice for me

                • vibration problem and modding query

Hello! My Pulsar 200 is about 5 months old now. Everything is fine, except for a strange light vibration at 5 to 5500rpm. I am just not able to figure out where exactly it is. It comes from the front. I showed it to PBK, they said it is because you have changed the handle bar. But that is definitely not the reason, as all the bolts are tight.

For Dual Disc 200: Hi. I am planning to fit a rear disc for my bike. What exactly will I need other than the disc brake kit and the 220 alloy wheel? And do you think PBK will do the installation if I give them the parts, or is better to get it fitted outside?

bout the front vibrations, I am sure this could be because of the handle bar change, lot of my friends have experienced this after switching to after-market handle bars, clip-ons on their relatively new bikes. I guess it has something to do with the weight, and alignment of the new handle bars.

Bout the rear disc, I had recently checked this out with the PBK center, and they were ready to do it, I was informed the following parts would need replacement.

                    Rear Swing arm
                    Rear wheel (Alloy)
                    brake assembly (disc/caliper assembly)

They said it would cost somewhere between 10-11K for the whole thing.

if at all you do plan to, please get it installed by the PBK guys, coz I've heard people complaining after doing this outside. If not done properly, it could seriously affect the handling, cornering of the bike.

If you ask my opinion, 11K for a rear disc is not worth it.. If I was desparate to have this, I'd rather sell of mine (mine is 9 months old) and get the 220 dtsi (80K is a steal for the features we get)

                    Just my personal view

                    Cheers

                    • Hi. Thanks for the advice! But I am not going to buy the parts from PBK, they overcharge for everything. I'm buying everything from J.C. Road. Excluding the swingarm, the disc brake kit and rear alloy will come to 6K. This cost will come down as I will be selling the rear alloy.

Wow where can the old parts be sold? I also had the same idea but 10K was a bit too much. Could you tell me which dealer/shop?

                        • I have to still find out where I can sell the parts. Have to ask this shop guy if he will buy it. The shop is called Magaji Automobiles. On J.C. Road you will see an MRF dealership on your right. A little ahead is a signal, turn left. Head straight down for a bit and keep looing on the right for this shop.

hey sorry to reply lateman, the kit is like swing arm, rear seet on the right, brake pedal, and the clamp holding the caliper this is what u've got to buy as per ur post.. I did it in pro biking cos my friend was the service manager there so, it was done with optimum care, though it might not sound the same with u, u have to decidee that based on ur relationship with those guys, Anyways congrats.
