    • wow.. good to see this thread is still alive and we still love our 200. Bajaj be damned :P

i've been away a long while thanks to a drawn out relocation process but i've still kept faith in my machine having changed my mind on selling it and she's come good on the handling again! i couldnt have asked for more!

anyhow.. for the first time i got her completely tanked up today at the petrol pump, just below the brim.. and i was a bit surprised when it turned out to be 17.97 Litres... which got me thinking since i didnt really look up the tank capacity of the 200 before this!

I was wondering what you guys get when you'll tank it up? IIRC its 15L useable and 3L of reserve fuel right? or is it 2L of reserve fuel?

because if thats the case.. and i tanked up 17.97L.. it would be a total capacity of 18L??

Actually if you rock the bike back and forth allowing the fuel to settle down every time if hits the brim, you might even go beyond the 18L mark
I'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

          • thanks! yeah im sure i'd have touched 18L without rocking it since there was a little more for it but didnt fill it to spill because i left some space for the cap to go in.

I decided to tank it up to get an idea of how much she's giving back per litre cos i've now started using my bike to work and back daily and i read somewhere the best way was to calculate tankful rather than the reserve method

                    • 4th service complete: odo reading ~7200kms. Oil in heart: Motul 5100T
Well the semi synthetic lube went in on saturday and on sunday i did a 300km ride.. Frankly.. No noticable LARGE difference in the way the bike feels. But yes... I "know" that the motul is a good product and you do notice something is better. Compared to my other bikes the 200 is a smooth bike as it is. But the motul does make it a notch smoother. Performance has not noticably increased but yeah again a small notch better. The engi9ne temps arealso a small notch cooler. so obviously.. The lube is good. The 300v must definitely be a better option. But at ~INR 800+ you would think twice. Have the money go for the 300v.
Thanks to praful for the oil suggestions!
                      Now the 7200kms ownership report:
Again.. I am really happy with my 200.. It's the same statement that comes to my mind: She is doing exactly what I had in mind when i was looking out for a new age bike. Decent power on the tap to get you out of tricky situations in city riding conditions.. Enough torque to keep you smiling.. and a decent mileage ( I am consistently getting around 42kmpl in bangy..) I use it everyday and if not in bumper to bumper traffic.. i do shift at the redline.. So thats a pretty impressive mileage.
Lighting is still an issue.. Not upto the mark.. and the jerking still persists. Am unable to sort the jerk issue.
All in all.. a great bike!
Top speed touched with 80kgs on the seat and heavy opposing crosswinds:
                      Down a slope: 130kmph
                      Flat stretch: 125kmph

Are u talking about the Oil reservoir?? Yes, there is a thin membrane kind of stuff which will be white in color in solid plastic till it's filled with dot oil, when poured it forms kinda thin membrane and yes, the membrane is present in my oil reservoir.

The rear disc set-up costed me 13k, year ago. The front fork assy with clip-on's as on 220's costed me somewhere around 10k roughly!
