  • today morning while starting my bike i noticed the brake fluid in the master cylinder !! to my amazement its in the min mark !!! put in on a level ground checked its still the same !! since its a sunday today cant take it to pbk also my doubt is
1)is it normal for brake fluid to get over so early?? my bike is only done 5500 km ??
    2) i saw some black soot kinda stuff near the brake caliper ?? is my barke fluid leaking ??

kinda scared to remove the bike out!! don wanna end up damaging my discs plz help ppl !!

        • ^Well even if your brake fluid level is at minimum you can take your bike out and get it to the PBK center without any worries. Just don't use the front brake as it possibly will not stop the bike (you can check this before riding).

Your disc will not get spoilt because of low brake fluid, so relax.

When the disc pads are worn out, the fluid level automatically goes down&will go back up when you replace the pads. So, check the pad wear condition first before jumping to any conclusion!

Why wonder about the strings on the fuel gauge? Once your bike is reserve just fill it up.....thts wht i have been doing since last 1.5 yrs cuz the fuel gauge refused to work even after it was replaced 3 times....

              • One Question :

I am reluctant on using a K&N on my p200 cos I ride atleast 50km everyday and I have heard a lot about drop of average. I have NGK plugs installed. What I am interested is on the Growl that K&N produces. Is there any way we can immitate it? Like removing the Cap from the Filter. I have the Filter Cap removed and it does give a growl. But I am not sure if thats the kind of Growl we get on installing K&N on a p200! Anyone has any idea?

Well just a K&N will actually improve your mileage, its the upjetting that will drag it down. But both go hand-in-hand if you want a healthy engine.

As for removing the filter cap...I don't think that would be good for engine life, but need some experts to confirm this. If the amount of dirt and grit is increased by filter cap removal then you might be looking at an eventual engine rebuild someday...

I think you can modify the exhaust if you want a nice growl, possibly removing the cat-con will help in this regard. But every mod has its downside. But first talk to someone who's actually done this mod.

                  • Thanks for the response Tanay.

Ok now I am scared. I have rode like 1000kms without that Filter Cap and have been to a lot of places where dirt is the second skin. Damn! I must get the cap on ASAP then. I would miss the growl

About the Cat Con thing you are talking about, I really need more info on that. Does it give too hollow a sound?

Anyways, about the K&N part, I must admit, I have heard mixed views. If at all, then I can do with a km or 2 reduction, wont be an issue. But the deal is I need a good mechanic who can do a carb rejetting in PUNE! I have no idea whom to contact here in Pune.

I am really inclined on getting something done about the growl. I cant do without that growl now.

Shoutout to Pune guys : If you know anyone who can install the K&N with a good carb rejetting please let me know. I will do it by this weekend itself, if I get the required info. I have gone through this thread and have figured the P180 UG 117.5 one is good, can anyone please shed some light on this part?

                    • Also, Wont removing the catalytic con need a lot of operation on the exhaust which will be permanent? And wont it give that tinny sound like some chaps do on their CT100s?

I have now totally come down to actually installing the K&N. But I want to know who does PROPER/CORRECT upjetting while installing it in PUNE. I am getting a 41kpl mileage atm, and I dont want to go much lower Hell bent on getting that growl right!

Getting the Cap on the Filter today evening and probably getting the K&N too IF someone from Pune guides me here regarding the K&N.

                        • ^^ Where are the pics? Can you please link me up? By the way, I have decided on fitting the K&N but I am stuck at finding a good mechanic here . Yep I will go for the K&N with a PreCharger. I have not gone looking out for a mechanic yet but I really want to know if there is someone in PUNE who can do a good upjetting while installing the K&N on my p200 . I no longer do drags and even during drags I could pull them off without the K&N, but I want to install K&N just for the growl right now. I ride close to 50km every day, 365 X 7! I am at such a position right now that if I see a post guiding me to a decent mechanic in Pune, I would go and install the K&N right away! Please help! Or just PM me. Or just add me on Facebook : Aditya Bh | Facebook

                              • ^reason is, you tend to rev the bike harder just to listen to the sound. you may disagree at first, but the fact is its very hard to ride at low revs when you have some extra noise.
