The old Bullets are similar to cars with separate oil for the engine. Right? Probably why GTX works for Bullets?Originally posted by Aryan View Post

a 20W50 will give better lubrication and form a thicker layer of oil at high temps as compared to a 20W40 oil ( if i am not wrong). Hence if it says 20W50.. better to go for the correct grade.

Which oil are you using now? Am using Motul 3000 4T 15W50. Nowadays its easily available with almost all oil shops in hyderabad!Originally posted by Aryan View PostAn engine oil rating of 20W50 is infact recommended for the P200. So, I believe, it would be totally okay.

My P200 is doing fine. It was having some starting issues since the past 20 days or so, but just managed to start it!
Yes, ofcourse I remember the very first day I bought her.
It was a wonderful feeling; I have completed 20,000kms. on it till date.

Hey guys... i noticed small hairline ageing cracks on the sides of my tires today while i was cleaning my bike today.. my bike's done 20k kms with no tyre change so far.. the treads on the tires are as good as brand new.. u guys suggest a change ??
and i came across this site Com-Paint Touchup Spray Paint, aerosol spray paint, supplier of spray paint, spray, spray paint, touchup, touch-up, aerosol spray paint manufacturers, spray paint,Touchup, Touch-up Spray, Spray Bottle, aerosol spray paint manufacturer, com-paint manuf for buying touch up paints.. have any of u ever bought a paint frm them?? cuz i cant see P200 BLUE paint (it is, i believe, much diff than P180 blue)..
finally, any ideas how i can restore the black shine back to my engine?? cuz the grooves are too narrow to clean manually.. it wud be nice if i cud spray some thing on it that wud mk it shining as good as new..

It is clearly written on the can - "For Petrol Cars". As discussed in the other thread, and as pointed out by rossiter clearly, using the GTX 20W50 might result in clutch slippage. However, there is another 20W50 rated oil from Castrol - the Castrol Active Xtra which is meant specifically for motorcycles.Originally posted by suresh6270 View PostHey i just started using castrol GTX 20W50 for P200.
Its been around 1500kms now and the performance is very fine.
However is it fine to user this for bikes? Coz heard that its only for cars....
It's hard to procure but I have used that oil extensively on my P180 Classic, which incidentally also required 20W50 grade oil, and it performed flawlessly.

It wont cause any harm to the engine but you may need to clean the air filter very often. say 600 to 800km onceOriginally posted by praji View Posthey guys yesterday while cleaning the bike !! by mistake the inlet for the air box got detached ( a 90degre bend made up of rubber under the riders seat ) !! jus started the bike wit out it !! bike sounds nice without the rubber part ! !
