PLEASE DO LET ME KNOW IF SUCH A "NEW CAM TENSIONER EXISTS" OR IF YOU ARE AWARE OF 1.

Just need some clarification....have u put in just the 200 cam chain tensioner?or hv u put in the 200's cam chain as well as the tensioner? as u'v mentioned that u have a 180UG3 head...this might be the reason for the cam chain falling short.the block height is slightly higher than the 180's.try to put in the 200's cam chain as it will be a bit longer.plus u can also try to put in the p200 head and camshaft fpr higher valve lift.only thing is that the 200 camshaft does not have a auto de-compression mechanism whereas the 180 has it.u'l need to do some amount of reaserch.

        • ^^ could be n number of reasons man.. get the bike overhauled including tank drainage and cleaning, decarbonisation of the engine, service the carb and change the oil. clean the air filter too and finally if you've got the bike "tuned" make sure they set it right.. as mentioned to a lot of people who own the P200, its quite sensitive to carb tuning.

BTW does anyone in mumbai know where i can get the orange/yellow rim stips done for my bike? i've got a few spots on the rim where the black paint has peeled and i'd like to add the strips to avoid it looking all shabby right now.

I've seen a lot of bikes with the orange strip on the rim in mumbai but i dont know where to get it done.

          • Cj & Kriss, Where does the extra lighting power (watts) comes from? What produces the watts? The engine! An alternator with higher output saps more power from the engine than an alternator with lower output would do. The power sap would be higher with the lights on. WHP will reduce with a high output alternator, be it OE stuff or rewound coil.

but as far as i know for more [power to be generated, more number of coil turns alongwith thicker gauge wire is required. How can that overload the engine? Please do answer my query

              • ^^^Pretty simple dude - the armature will offer more rotational resistance which will have to be overcome by the engine.

yes i have!! my mech says the tensioner is not giving enought tension to the 200's chain..he was talking about welding the tensioner or mounting it further up or something like that.! the engine is getting heated up like crazy!!! just came back from ganpatipule, the engine was a pain in the ass!! after 200 odd ms the oil started spilling out of the engine head if i was crossing 70km/hr!! & i mean spurting out like a fountain.!!

the 200 runs on a 38 rear teeth set up right?? i am still on 180 ug3's 44 teeth rear set up..the max i touch at 10 rpm is 121!, the best part is my rev limiter is only not ther, the rpm meter goes effortlessly beyon 10k rpm

well as i see it...ur engine is spurting out oil frm the head coz there might not be adiquate sealing between the 200 block and the 180 head.as it is the block is larger. so the head may seem to be fitting correctly but the head being smaller there might not be proper sealing between the 2 faces i.e. the head and the block.try out the 200 head and the 200 head gasket.also, the 200 had a forced lubrication system where the oil circulates throughout the engine...even through the crankshaft, output and input shafts etc. as they have a channel for oil to go through them.they are kind of hollow.this might be y the 200 dosent overheat.

Secondly, yes the 200 has a 14t front sprocket and a 38t rear sprocket.so ur bike is a bit under geared.i'd suggest u to go for a 40T rear first to try out how it wrks.coz i dnt knw how ur bike will pull with such a small rear sprocket like the 38t.lemme knw how things go.

                      Cheers.

Just a query, Can the current pulsar 200 38 teeth rear sprocket be changed to 44 teeth pulsar 180 ug3's without any mods???? If yes, what are the advantages?????? Top speed or Initial pull???????? Confused in that!!!!!

Firstly the Chain pitch of the 180's is different and hence the rear sprocket may not be compatible.
Next 44T is a overkill and will put too much stress on your engine.

Currently the 38T rear is good and very very appropriate. If you still want to increase your acceleration, you could go for the ZMA's 40T rear sprocket. That will come at a loss of topend and you will have to be carefull not to redline it too much!

                              Hey,
What should i do to increase the top end with regard's to the sprocket change????? Is 200 & 220 Rear sprockets the same size, if not can the 220 rear sprocket be installed in 200 to improve top end??????

The 220's rear sprocket is 37T and should make the bike taller geared i.e. drop in acceleration with increase in topend!
