i am not comfortable with this handle bar. i can do the jetting properly.Originally posted by worrisomebear View PostWith what u planning, u are surely going to mess the bike.
A FZ tyre would hamper ur pickup, acceleration and even mileage
if u put airfilter, u need to ensure u do proper jetting.
exhaust pipe : i suggest u either stick to stock
with 3 piece handle : all clutch and acc cables will get tightened and it will be a mess
all these would void ur warranty as well
Rather than all this i suggest u:
to go for pirelli 17 inchers to improve perforamnce
u may go in for HID to improve light
buy cbr 250R or ninja or zmr/zma or R15 or 220 for more performance
i am coming up with these crazy ideas coz i was using YAMAHA R15 b4 this bike (dont ask y i sold it) and i cant buy anymore bikes.

Hi folks
Just two months since I bought my bike, a few thoughts before giving it for first service-
Gear shifting is smooth.. no issues. But after 400kms, the gear ratios seem to have changed?? Top speed I get in first gear is 10km/hr only!?? Would appreciate if someone could throw light on this.. a little theory would help me understand why initial pickup is poor(atleast in my case) for this bike.
Suspension is a bit hard, naturally cause its in hard setting, but I enjoy the handling so far. Does the suspension improve on its own, like after a few thousand kms or shud I go ahead and turn to a softer setting now? I ride solo.
Engine guard- Will it affect performance in any way (affect cooling?). Is there a stock engine guard for Dazzler, if not any other suggestions?
Seat- any changes that can be done to make the ride sporty? Right now I feel like riding a bullet. I dont want to change handlebars yet.. planning to mod the seat though. So if I elevate seat height will it change riding stance, or am I talking nonsense?
Thanks for your inputs.

Unicorn never had Engine Kill switch. (I wonder WHY???)
I think Honda people want us to flex our mustles a bit after every ride. Hence we have to move our hands from the handlebar to soooo far off key hole.

If by engine gaurd, you are referring to the crash guard at the front, then it won't have any problem, it doesn't weigh much so haven't affected my bikes performance. I don't see how it stops air flow either.Originally posted by Arvotron View PostHi folks

I believe it is made for that look rather than a sporty look, even if you change the handle bar the gear shifts stays at the same place which IMO will cause you discomfort while riding.Peace \m/

Gear Ratio- Technically It cannot change but I m not sure why you have lost on pick up.Must be other reasons like tyre pressure is low. Ideally in 1st gear u will readline at 20Km/hr. Guys help on this!!!
Suspension-I ve done about 7500km on my Dazzler. If you are a Solo rider then shift supension to soft.U'll know the diff once you move it to soft. Initially it might be a little hard but it'll get better when u ride more. At hard if you have a pillion rider it'll work better.
Engine guard you are referring to would be the full engine cover like the ones on pulsar rite?If so they arent available as stock on dazzler but yes a base plate comes as stock that they say is the engine guard. Its just a plate attached below the engine to protect it from dirt etc.
Seat- The dual color is for a sporty look. I think you can go for a twin seperate seat lik the ones on stunner.

I haven't redlined in first gear yet(dare not before 1st service!). Will have to check with SVC about this.Originally posted by vinumathew20 View PostGear Ratio- Technically It cannot change but I m not sure why you have lost on pick up.Must be other reasons like tyre pressure is low. Yes, by engine guard I meant the engine lower cover like in Stunner. I already have a leg (crash) guard. I just want to keep mud out of my engine, but havent seen a single Dazzler with an engine guard till date.

I just finished 1000 km's in my dazzler today. Can someone lpease answer a couple of my questins?
1. When is the ideal time to check mileage? Is it after 2000kms? Coz i'm only getting around 45 km's.. May be because i ripped a little in between.
2. How often should the chain be lubricated? Service guys told me it's a dry chain and no need of lubricating. But it's kinda dirty and i can hear only the chain sound properly when putting the vehicle on neutral in slopes and riding.
3. I ride alone in the mornings and ride with a pillion in the evenings, should i set the suspension to soft or is hard ok now?

things i am going to change are
1.handle bar - 350 wide piece
2.airfilter- k&n
3.exhaust pipe - i am trying to bring the exhaust pipe under the rear seat so that it looks kinda like the cbr600r.
4.tyre- fz stock tyre.
5.paint- mix red with the stock red
i have all the money and even a good mechanic/alter guy but i am confused coz i dont want to mess up a good bike. so ... just temme wat u all feel abt this.

2> 1200-1500 km is best though suggest you to a watch if you start to hear noise it time to get it lubricated
3> suspension depends on the quality of the road you drive. soft is suggest able normally for a solo rider.Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead..

If you want to prolong the life of the chain and enjoy a smoother ride (with lesser noise), then I would suggest you lubricate the chain every 500-600 kms.Originally posted by Srinivas Shekar View PostI just finished 1000 km's in my dazzler today. Can someone lpease answer a couple of my questins?

I use diesel and an old brush to first clean the chain 2-3 times giving it water treatment in between then leave it in an open, dry place so the water and diesel evaporates.
Then apply TVS Chain Lube spray while the wheel (and chain) rotates freely.. Once that is done, let it sit in the garage for a few hours so the lubricant gets some time to cling on.
Thats it ! The next time you ride it, you will be well rewarded for your hardwork with a sleek and pleasing chain noise and a superb ride
As for the suspension, I had it on soft all along and in the beginning it still felt rock hard. I have completed 3,000 on the odo now and it has softened up quite a lot.
Happy riding

Thanks mate, but are you sure its safe to use TVS lubrication? coz i heard it's better to use only HOnda one since its a dry chain?
