Refill brake fluid when the level goes below the minimum marking. Air filter every 15k kms.

Most probably you have not checked it properly. The oil will not be used up so early; at least the current fill will last for around 20k. Start checking the levels from 15k onwards.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Would you be aware which chain spray are the Honda Service center using ?
And also if you clean and lube the chain on your own, can you guide me with a few steps... I am planning to do it this sat.. Long time chain needs some lubing...

OKS chain spray is neutral to O-rings. It is clearly written on the container, and most superbike owners use it on O-ring chains. Check this...

OKS is a recognized brand in India for industrial lubricants. It is better than the TVS spray (I have not used the TVS spray yet, but I feel the OKS brand is superior).

Honda service people do not use any lubricant on Dazzler. They use, if at all, normal chain lube oil or old engine oil.

For cleaning, I spray OKS degreaser on the chain just before giving my bike for water servicing. I will ask the service guy to spray the water jet on the chain (not high pressure). All the mud and dirt will be washed away. Later, once the chain is dry, I will spray the OKS chain spray. I will do this every 2-3 weeks.

Thanks, will try that this sat hopefully...
Do you easily get the oks de greaser and the spray at any spare parts shop ? How much does each cost ?

I use Motul Chain Clean and Motul Chain Lube. Though a bit costly, the chain on my bike are always in top condition. I've also used OKS and Zorrik sprays. And once in a month or so I'll sit down and clean the chain with an old toothbrush after applying the de greaser (or kerosene if its out ). Once your chain is clean, applying the lube spray once a week suffices.

                            • Hii

                              Hi Everyone,
This is my 1st post after joining this wonderful forum way back in 2009. I have been following this forum for a long time but the lazy side of me saw that i never posted . Better late than never i'm posting today & I am happy that my 1st post is about my new Unicorn dazzler.
Let me give you a brief intro about my biking history(though not much)
                              1.)Bajaj Pulsar 150 - I bought it in 2003(10th class ) and i still own it.
Lovely bike ,very reliable done around 50k, no part replacements except the
                              silencer(twice).
2.)Honda Aviator -Bought it in 2010, basically its for household purpose.

Lets get back to the new bike.I took delivery of my silver UNIDAZ today(08-04-2011) in the evening. I booked the bike on March 6th. Though i could have got the bike the next day, I wanted to have the 2011 manufactured model. All the bikes available then were 2010 model.
The delivery process was quite smooth & satisfactory thanks to the dealership(Pratul Honda, Somajiguda,Hyderabad). I would suggest this dealership over the erragadda one as the staff there are quite arrogant.

                              Coming to the bike,
As of now I haven't driven much, only around 10kms. The bike is not super smooth like the test drive vehicle but i guess it will smoothen out after a couple of hundred kms. The front brake doesnt bite in like the pulsar does, but i feel this is safer. The back brake doesnt have the bite like the Test drive vehicle, but again i think its just a matter of small adjustments. The clutch & gear box are super slick. I guess i have answered all my doubts but i would like to know your opinions too as there is no alternative to experience.

Overall I am very happy with my new bike. I will update about the ownership experience periodically & will be more active on this thread

                              Thank You .

                              • Hi,
I finally got my silver Dazzler this week and done around 80km in 2 days and these are my observations.
                                1) Gear shift from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th is failing most of the time in the first attempt and i have to shift twice or thrice to get it going.
In general the gear shift is harder than i thought. Not sure if its an issue with gearbox or the clutch.
                                2) maneuvering the handle bar is harder. in fact the left turn is harder and right turn is kinda better. Even moving the handlebar either side when the bike is not running is harder.

3)Thought i have not revved past 50 kmph , the pick up is not all that great.

I am gonna take it up to the dealer soon to sort this out.

Also at the time of delivery i noticed that there was some kinda rusting and improper finishing in the silencer and I was told that this is how the dealer had received from the factory . They have promised to fix/replace it during the first service.
After the initial wait of 3 weeks the delivery was delayed further by 3 more weeks and the delivery process was also very poor by the dealers. the people of the dealership displayed perfunctory and blunt attitude. 3 dazzlers were delivered at the same time and all of them had some small scratches, spots which obviously pissess off buyers who put in thousands of rupees on the bike. When asked the reason , they simply said its how they got the product from the factory. it was like " we dont care about the quality. just take the bike and go".
I have had way better buying experience with Bajaj and TVS dealers.

                                Do post your comments/suggestions.
