Oil change should be done at 500kms (or a little bit earlier if possible but not before 400kms mark) for post run in.
After this you can safely change oil at every 2000kms (do it at 1700kms after the first oil change for best results). Only change oil after 2000kms as that is the usual life of available 4t oils.
Also, don't use Bajaj oil man, you might as well be using coconut oil that is to say its crap after 700kms of running (provides no lubrication). The oil you bought is good for run in but after that change to motul 3100 or shell ax5.
Also, you're welcome man, glad to help.
Thanks for the information dude... Clearly understood

Will stay away from Bajaj oil

Thankyou once again for the info and help

The P150 original Cam has a provision/hole for holding the valve decompressor. At the lathe shop, i asked the guy can they make that one on a P200 cam. He said the Cam is a very hard part and it cannot done precisely on the P220 cam.

For the time being i purchased Castrol GTX 20w50 car engine oil for first 500kms Run-in. Is it ok..??? Which oil is best for run in..?? Should i change to crappy Bajaj oil next time..?? Any suggestions guys for mineral oil..?? Also suggest the best interval for oil change please...
        I mean to ask
        1st change-- at 500kms
        2nd change-- at maybe 1000kms..?? (After 500 kms i.e; 500+500 (or) 500+1000..??)
        3rd change-- ???

Regularly i use w50 Valvoline Premium4T for my bike with interval of 2500Kms. Its best for my bike..!!

The piston rings were worn, so the bike was seized previously..!!! But nothing chipped off / cracked from piston.. Thank God...
        Pictures
I am now on Run-in maintaining 40 kmph speed with varying rpm not crossing 3-4K.

Please suggest me the oil draining period accurately/approx and also the mineral oil.

I have the small issues like, when i am enganging the 1st gear from neutral its not getting engaged as it is used to in the past. Its getting stuck in middle and whenever i am trying to pull its getting neutral sometimes. (My bike has all down pattern. The best pattern)

When i engage 1st gear and trying to relaese clucth slowly, the bike is shaking like stop-go stop-go motion. My mechanic said its due to new clutch and its get right after some kms. What say guys..???

I would like to thank specially Balgi for his good advice and time. Thank you friend
Also don't forget to clean the centrifugal oil filter during the first oil change(IT's CRUCIAL for your engine).
The link is in my signature

You took a wise decision of keeping the bike stock.
Drilling hole in the 220 camshaft would have unbalanced it and it would have created havoc to the bearing after fitment.
Remember all moving parts are cast/machined to be balanced during rotation.

As for the gearshift problem adjust clutch lever free play and check drive chain slack(If it's too loose or tight it will cause problems with gear change).
and don't use GTX it will cause your clutch to slip.
Use valvoline W50 grade it's one of the best oils for pulsar.

Balgi bro... My bike completed 500 kms post the new bore piston change and i have changed the engine oil. I am unable to source Motul 3100 anywhere.. so purchased castrol Active xtra 20w50.. will be changing the oil after 1700kms as per your suggestion

Stick removed, cleaned and just placed inside without tightening it and watched.. the oil mark is below the stick....???
Please watch in the pic below.. The oil level is exactly at the pointer mark

Hey man don\'t thank me, thank your mechanic coz he deserves it....
Judging by the pics he did a good job.
I don\'t have broadband currently so I\'ll edit the thread with your pics later.
And I would like to thank you for taking the pics, the ones with the oil pump were really needed in the thread.

It\'s a lengthy job and do you seriously expect the service guys doing this on the first free service..!!
So the filter is never opened and cleaned which causes these metal shavings to circulate inside the engine after the centrifugal filter clogs up..
That\'s how it ended blocking your oil pump filter net which indicates the shavings have circulated throughout your engine and ended up in the sump !!

Even Bajaj recognized this and all the newer models have a separate oil filter cap on the clutch cover itself which makes it easier to clean.

The manual recommends 1.1Ltr on overhaul like this one..
You must have used 1Ltr of oil which is why dipstick is showing low oil..

You can go to Bajaj service station and ask for top up.
They supply Bajaj Oil 20W50 in loose.(Try asking for it in bigger service stations)
Remember any oil is better than no oil.

Fill about 100-200ml and measure again DONOT overfill more than half mark on dipstick..
When measuring on dipstick make sure that you wait for 5min after stopping the engine.

Also due to the cold weather be gentle on the throttle on cold engine.
If you have trouble with cold morning starts then use choke and let it idle for about 30seconds.

                  Hello Guys,
-My pulsar 150 ug4 recently started emitting white smoke when I start it in the morning. Usually the smoke is for 10-15 seconds and then theres no smoke at all. This only happens when i start it in morning and when the bike warms up theres no sign of smoke all day.
-Bike is modded, has K&n airfilter, upjetted carburetor and free flow exhaust.
what do you guys think? Is it the valves or the piston rings which have gone kaput?

It may be moisture accumulated in the exhaust overnight.cover the opening of exhaust with polythene or something like that before parking the bike after your last ride in that day.If there is no white smoke next morning then nothing is wrong with your bike
