    Hlo,
If you get work done from good mechanic then it would be as good as new one but if not done properly then it won't serve you long time.
I got a new starter motor for 950 after 2 failed attempts at repairing by mechanic.

    • Changing 2014's Pulsar 150 tyres to Tubeless ??

Since i bought my bike i have a doubt regarding tubeless tyres for P150.
Can we replace Pulsar 150 tyres with TUBELESS without performing any mod ?? If so which size was preferable ???

      Thanks !!

Since the alloys are same, it's fine to use tubeless without any mods. A friend of mine rides on tubeless tyres on his p150. As for size, stick to stock size for best compatibility. P220 tyre combo can also be used but performance will slightly go down.

            Hi Sanjiv,

UG1 and UG2 didnt have BCU i.e models upto 2006 (Analog meter Pulsars)

From 2006 Half year, UG3 model has started with digital meter.. So from UG3 to UG4.5 all the Pulsars had BCU..

The UG4.5 was ended at quarter (Maybe) of 2014...

Now UG5 (P150 and P180) are in the market... They are not having BCU.. BCU was more prone to failure and it costs around 1000RS+ and also the non-contact type are more prone to failure.. So Bajaj removed them...

But BCU was not removed in P220 till date... Only Bajaj knows the Reason...

How to identify..??? Simple... Look at the RH switch set.. The engine kill switch (Red colour).. Down position--Makes circuit, Up position--Break circuit.
The switch sets are acquired from Pulsar 135.... The best ever switch sets on any bike in INDIA.. i can say....

The slipon exhausts may cause engine problems in long run.. Some members here had fried valves and other problems,,

Bro.. Upjetting, K&N, slipon or FFE stuff will not increase any POWER and may have bad effects on engine..

IF you want peace of mind and if you wish to keep your bikes engine healthy... Just remove that silencer and stick with stock. Try removing snorkel from the airfilter box (present at the top of airfilter box). it will give the same roar as K&N and you will not find any use with your current exhaust. (I am here assuming that you have gone for that exhaust for Roar)

The complete exhausts are any day better than after market exhausts. And here in India there are no specific aftermarkets designed specially for Indian bikes.

            • Chain noise from Pulsar 150 UG3 in 4th gear

              Hi all,

I have a P150 UG3 in Bangalore which I was riding without a chain cover for a good 18 months. The bike developed a kat-kat sound only in the 4th gear around 29-33 speeds. My mech said the chain had developed play and there isn't any solution except replacing the chain and sprocket kit.

I recently went to Khivraj Bajaj ASS in Domlur and got a brand new sprocket chain kit + chain case. Cost me 1500 in all.

As soon as I took the bike out from the service centre I noted the sound still existed. I promptly went back the next day and they had their head mechanic of 20 years experience say the noise only existed in the 4th gear its likely the 4th gear teeth had worn out.

I took the bike out for a second opinion and after spending 30 min, mech 2 said the same thing. Change gear assembly. Moved

Have been riding the bike for 7 days and noticed the noise in even the 3rd and 5th gear and well as the chain brushing against the cover when I press the clutch.

Went back to mech 1 and removed cover. Substantial reduction in noise but still persisted I'd say about 30%. With chain cover 100% audible in 4th and 5th gear.

Went through multiple threads here about the chain but didn't find anything conclusive. This is the closest: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/help-me/...problem-3.html

But the difference is I have the noise even without the chain cover.

I'm very very confused if I should let the mech open up the engine. Somehow to me the sound only appears to be coming from the rear wheel and not front. Mech says its an effect of the gear loading the chain for high RPM. As a last resort he recently put another spare old sprocket chain kit and that had a similar issue. He says it is confirmed the 4th gear teeth are worn out and the bike may be dangerous to ride.

Looking for some expert advice here or a great mechanic reference in South Bangalore.

I have been using Pulsar 150CC UG4 Edition, SEP-2009 clocked 50,000 Kms. Now i need to get my byke bore done for the engine.
Suggest me a good service centre in Hyderabad to get this done, Bajaj Service centre guys seems not to be much genuine they are very reluctant to answer my queries.

For a capable mechanic please check my profile. I have updated my mechanics address and phone number. I can personally vouch for his work and guarantee good results. you also have the option to shop for parts yourself and the mech will only proceed with any repairs post full diagnosis and consulting you.

                        Cheers

Thanks for your reply. Can you tell me the performance of the byke post bore work getting done? Because i have had a bad experience with my other byke Unicorn which i got done bore work. I love this byke and can't afford to get the bore work done to try the luck or test the mechanic. Also do u have any good suggestion near by KPHB for this work done.

BYK was a 100cc Bajaj motorcycle which was a flop. Are you referring to that Byke?
