You are right in saying, "we are bikers and not marketing people". Thats why even though Ninja makes "mincemeat" of CBR250 on the track/road, the marketing people may yet dance all the way to the bank.

Maybe it would be unfair to compare a CBR250 with 150cc R15 that costs as you put "70 grand lesser on road". I would say, No one knows yet what the actual price would be. Besides you neglect to point out that the Ninja has an extra cylinder compare to CBR and costing almost double tsk..tsk.

Take it in good spirit. Most bike enthusiast has for the first time, have a chance of owning a decent performance bike. It also has the potential of redefining the biking scenario like what CBZ did years ago. Your desire of a better machine are sound in its own right. If one has the capacity or willing to pay for it. Such a machine already exists in the market.
It just doesn't make much sense to launch another bike that is similar to Ninja in performance and price that may score low sale figures. After all, remember, those are marketing people

If they want to sell bikes in decent numbers, pricing is key. Anything above 1.5L would just be a spike in sales from initial buyers and would not sustain in medium to long term.

The sticker work on the 150R makes it look better than the 250R.

Why am I being singled out . I seem to be the only person who prefers the 250 colour scheme. Must be some conspiracy .

Guys... don't know how far this is true.

A colleague of mine has inquired about the CBR250R at a Honda dealership in Chennai & they seem to have told that the bike will be available for delivery from Jan 2011 itself! When he asked if they referred to the booking, they seem to have clarified that the bike will be launched & deliveries will commence from Jan!

Hope that this is true, as other sources point to April!

What ? If your friend is even half true, I'm going to get same clarification from Honda guys about it and booking one of those in Jan'11
