Well i totally agree wid you.. But I was talking about "Petrol Heads" for whom mileage isn't an issue.. Well not everyone would understand that as most of the Asian bike market is driven by the mileage mania.. Just hope twin/triple/four cylinder bikes don't die out.. So we are progressing by decreasing cylinders.. Future of biking -- Electric bikes which have awesome mileage and pseudo green notion attached to dem..Originally posted by nagoo View PostI don't know abt the others but u hurt ur own feelings i guess ..
U should analyse the situation before just jumping like kids whenever we see the things ..
CBR is latest in biking .. and don;t they [Honda] know the facts of Ninja or can't they bring a bike more powerful than Ninja ..sure they do and they can .. but still why didn;t they do it ?
The ans is fairly simple .. as time passes new technologies will emerge and which suits the current and future time .. now why did they go for single cylinder ? becoz its gonna be the future of the biking word now .. [Moto GP rules and u can see lot of other players also going for single] ..and why only 26bhp ? .. it will help increase milage and helps in reducing pollutions and all over the world new pollution norms are getting tough and restricted ..and this bike is for universal consumption .. where as Ninja primary focus was to Europe and its loaded with the tech on that time when it came out freshly ..
with the time tech is will better only .. and not the otherway ..
Now if anyone feels like going for Ninja ..sure they can ..if they can afford .. i am sure next ninja version will also be in tune with global standards [similar to honda cbr]

Thanks Nagoo for that piece of info.Originally posted by nagoo View PostSudeep as far i know its a standard for Eu countries to have bikes head lights always on [it helps in lot of ways] ..

In that case, I want to know how do we turn off the headlights in daytime then? From the pics, I can't find any switch for that.

BTW, neither did I hurt my feelings (I chose not to book the CBR250 when the Honda sales girl was persuading me to book it...) nor am I jumping like a kid as I am waiting for the other 250s (or more powerful bikes) to be launched this year...
For me the Ninja is a better bike than the Honda... Yes the Honda is new... But in da end of the day its not what appeals to ME.. N dats a PERSONAL view... Don't get hurt by it..!!!!!!!!

Are they merely used for adjusting the valve clearance or can also be used for changing the valve clearance? Can changing the valve clearance affect the engine performance? tech gurus, what do you say?Originally posted by tanay.....
You have half an idea what valve shims are? They are used to adjust the valve clearances. They don't play a role in how smooth the engine is.
I suppose he meant Crank shaft. As far as I know crank shaft has counter-weight. If I am not wrong, the counter-weight is designed as if it appears like an integral part of the design of a crank shaft. The crank comes with a counterweight? ZOMFG!!! What an invention! No other bike has one! .....
May be Sai wanted to say that this crankshaft is of different design or something like that which makes the engine more smoother or something like that.

please avoid the use of sms language on xBhp forum.Originally posted by arnab.archies111 View PostDont know how many of you will agree with me.. But if i buy da new CBR250R, and some crazy day a Ninja250R stops next to me in the traffic light.. I would know that its da Ninja I always craved for (as any petrol head would) but settled for the CBR which was just a value for money bike..
In fact I read many CBR250 MC19 owners r furious at Honda for bringing out the new CBR which has just 26BHP... For dem its just a CB250 n dey say da "R" letter should be dropped... Remember da older developed 45PS..!!!! (MC22 developed 40PS)
I know the new CBR has loads of tech going into it.. But in da end it would not be a decision from my heart but my brain/pockets.. Just a food for thought.. N den there's da rumor of Bajaj/Kawasaki planning to localize Ninja parts to bring the price down.. (Just a rumor but still makes me happy from widin..)
Sorry if i hurt anyone's feelings..(Been There Done That) x 3.25

I too would have got a bit irritated if I currently owned a Ninja 250R, but why don't we act maturely as grown ups and not take things too personal.
If you check my previous post I have mentioned that I am happy to see that the CBR250R can compete with the Ninja 250r after watching the video provided by bprags. I never said the CBR250R could beat the Ninja or vice-versa. Lets wait for a couple of shoot-outs between the two bikes for some concrete results.

Just a small confession, nowadays xbhp seems to have become much more like "orkut" community threads before everyone got 'facebook-ed'. It is definitely a turn off.I find it irritating not because of the comparo between a Ninja and a CBR 250R, and which is faster/slower. A Rx100 guy overtook me on the highway earlier this month at 100kmph - does that I mean I sell my Ninja and buy a 848? No.Originally posted by Nilhawk View Posti personally wanted to own ninja250. But didntnt hav money to own it. When i saw pics & price of cbr250 i thought it was a beautiful sports bike with great price and booked it. Performance was in compared to ninja may be a little less but was ok for me as i own a fz 16 & jumping from 14 to 26 bhp is not bad. When pulsar250 will come it will attrack many people. I may not like that one but that doesnt mean i will get irritated or hate pulsar or other pulsar lovers and start spreading my hatred all over the thread. These peoples are not bike lovers. They are possesed by their own bikes and to them all other bike & bike lovers are nonsense. If u are irritated and dont like the cbr then why are u posting words of hatred in this post. And if u still keep doing these things then my middle finger is for you...
I find this irritating because of the amount of misinformation which has filled in the CBR threads. Started with ABS, and then went on from there. Someone was also talking about the CBR doing 200 kmph. You know what I mean.
A few people tried to talk sense, but it made as much difference as pouring a bottle of Evian mineral water into a mud pond.

Very true as there's no point in arguing over something that doesn't make sense to them as well as to us. Better to watch the thread's proceedings rather than to give comments that will not be valued by fanboys.Originally posted by bluevolt View PostI find it irritating not because of the comparo between a Ninja and a CBR 250R, and which is faster/slower. What we are witnessing on XBHP is NEW people getting first taste of a fully faired international sportsbike.
As a result we are seeing so many amateur posts. Just sign up and post anything. No idea whether the subject has been already discussed.
Just imagine if the import duties were abolished and we get sbks at their original price!
XBHP will be under noob and poser attack

Whoa...As per the video the bike is quick, really quick. I hope we are not seeing a faulty/over-reading speedo!!Originally posted by bprags View PostOk here we go, the First acceleration video, courtesy someone in the CBR250.org forumn. The bike is damm fast, it just shoots to 100 in 6.5 secs. The rider manages 165 at around 10K rpm and runs out of road. The true speed might be some where around 155 though.

This bike has all the right boxes ticked in. A really nice buy for those who want a true blue international offering.

The speedo is over reading, just like the other bikes in the indian market except probably the ZMR. Check this post for GPS speeds. http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/154...tml#post562911Originally posted by chicane1879 View PostWhoa...As per the video the bike is quick, really quick. But still the bike is pretty quick.
