Bajaj wont definitely mind the cannibalization of Duke 200 by the P375(If they lie in same price bracket). India was never a major market for Duke, it was made to be exported and which it does best. You can see, the Tier 3( and even many tier 2) cities dont have Probiking/KTM Showrooms.... and Bajaj aint interested either.I was hoping for a Probiking near my place, when Duke was launched. But it never came up,and I eventually dropped my KTM aspirations(cant service it at the mercy of Bajaj mechs, following trial and error). Eagerly waiting for June/July of 2013,and hope,Pulsar comes fully armed....HH Dawn - TVS Star City - Yamaha Gladiator - TVS RTR 180 - Honda CBR 250R - Yamaha R3

From the press conference it sounds like ABS is standard feature on even Duke 125 unlike industry practice of having separate variant for ABS alone. If it is so, then certainly Duke 200 in India will also get ABS.Originally posted by worrisomebear View Postpress release

According to Bajaj as they communicated to media during their last launch, Their intention to spread is clear. And As of now Bikes above 1 L INR will be considered Premium bike and will be sold through KTM showrooms rather than smaller bajaj showrooms, Yes its very strange that Bajaj got a pro-biking/ktm showroom in Cochin only 2 months back. So it will reah your city soon. If not you will be forced to buy a bigger pulsar from another city.
It's only few ponies more than we predicted man. Yes with a lot of character this motor will prove more than potent. I am very happy that it is not that 32 Hp simple boy like somebody said. With KTM/Bajaj retaining the looks from the 200 on this, I don't think they are in a position to charge premium for bike this bike despite is much bigger heart.
I am expecting some earth shattering pricing for the 390! A little south of 2.5L I reckon
Have been silently following the 390 launch so far, and I can say that I'm pretty dissapointed. I had hoped that bike would be proportinately bigger, so much power in such a small package is fun alright but at the same time might be a little too potent. Even though they are shod with Metzeler tyres now, its still not enough to hold down this bike and its pretty apparent in the video where the rider is almost sliding in one corner.
I also hope that KTM is exploring possibilites of making derivatives of this bike, much on the lines of what Honda has done with the CB500 series.
Really looking forward now to how the bigger Pulsar will shape up to be.
We should remember that big nakeds i.e. Tuono, FZ1,Super duke-R, street fighter all have mammoth power and are ultra light. So better be prepared for tomorrow
i.e. what 390 says.
Now radicalization of Duke means creating room for Bajajs own brands. I would like to see a semi faired tourer called pulsar 375 with same motor with some 40Hp. And why can't Bajaj bring a 400 cc twin with true track genes, just need to spent some time watching at N300 and own RC8-R

Rightly said. Much of the dukes that are manufactured is primarily exported. So Bajaj wouldn't mind about Cannibalizing D200. It all depends on the mindset of the customer. A duke lover would always go for the duke. He wouldn't pick the 375 NS, instead he will save some more cash and get the D390. That's what a true fan of the ride would do. Whereas if someone likes the pulsar series, he would go for the 375 NS. I'm waiting for the D390Originally posted by sambit View PostBajaj wont definitely mind the cannibalization of Duke 200 by the P375(If they lie in same price bracket). 11L fuel holding capacity, is it enough for a 44 horsepower engine?
Otherwise the specs are killer!

Please confirm this with any source if possible. This is absolutely opposite to what they said during N650 launch then.Originally posted by Ezilkannan View PostI can live with that

.
They said "ANy bike sold by Bajaj above 1L(in current scenario)" will be sold through KTM showrooms, Ie Greens Oranges and Big Yellows as all of them will cost above 1L Mark. As of now Ninjas are sold at very same place.
Here in India Bajaj will sell Pulsars, Dukes and Ninjas. And outside india KTM will sell Dukes.Last edited by kochumvk; 11-15-2012, 12:37 PM.

Even if we want a 300km range on a full tank, the bike has to give around 30kmpl gas mileage, which, i feel, is too much to expect from a 44 ponies engine. What do you say guys?Having said that, KTM ka kuch bharosa nai!
Even before the launch of Duke 200, many people were like, "ohh no such a small tank! How can we tour on it?" et all. But the Duke 200 surprised everybody by giving more than 40kmpl on highways!

Answer is pretty simple. This one is not for touring. Its our naughty street bike. It is built to show its muscles more on the urban streets than on highway. For that lest pick the CB500s, or wait for next pulsars.Originally posted by tusharsmoily View PostEven if we want a 300km range on a full tank, the bike has to give around 30kmpl gas mileage, which, i feel, is too much to expect from a 44 ponies engine.
