Well in that case we all will switch to the tyres that the 3 Hondas are coming with (if they are any goodOriginally posted by Praful View PostPrecisely the reason I said ....
).
P.S.: I have a bad bad feeling about the pricing of this bike. KTM has been way too naughty with pricing. The UK price difference between 200 ABS (4195 GBP) and 390 ABS (4495 GBP) is just 300 GBP (Rs.26k INR).Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Difference between the 125 and 200 is just 5%, even the 390 and 200 difference is just 7%.Originally posted by antz.bin View Post

In India however I think they'd price it around a 30% price difference, which is still quite a steal!_________________________

What I was more interested in was the actual price difference (not the percentages) of 200 GBP between D125 and D200 and 300 GBP between D200 and D390. Since there are a lot of UK/EU specific overheads which do not exist in India which reduces the percentages.Originally posted by Praful View PostDifference between the 125 and 200 is just 5%, even the 390 and 200 difference is just 7%.

Anyways, another thing I noticed was that the ABS on the 2013 Duke 200 has added 4.5 kilos to the dry weight as compared to the 2012 edition. (compared India and UK Dukes).Advice is a form of nostalgia.

We have seen that MRF has upped the game and created decent OEM rubber as the demand came in (ex:R15,Duke 200). I hope MRF can further advance.Originally posted by Praful View PostYou know what's scary?
What if KTM India sells the 390 with the MRF tyres and possibly no ABS

A local suppler will help aggressive pricing. BUT please don't say no ABS this early. We really need that one, even if paying 20k more. This third world treatment is not cool Bajaj (no ABS on Ninja 650 as well)

Did my bit, sent a request for a extended tank power part
KTM Contact KTM.com - Ready to Race
Hopefully someone at product development gets the hint and does something about it.
Doubt if it will work at all, but if enough of us ask for it at least someone will take notice.

@Antz: Instead of buyin from KTM's Powerparts catalogue, why doesn't Bajaj just sell us the 390 engine so that we can build a bike around it and cover all needs they have missed?
And KTM pricing it aggressively in EU is a good sign for us right? Why bad bad feeling then?

I would like ABS as an option rather than Standard in 390 Duke. No offence to others but I dont like ABS, many purists dont, u just cant have the break locking fun with them and i dont like the fact that a computer is handling all the breaking work for me.
MRF rubber in Pulsars, Duke 200 are quite good and those on R15 are one the best. I am sure Bajaj will equip D390 with good rubber. I think the D200 zappers are rated for 200kmph... so shouldnt be a problem on D390... right?Street racing is for Squids trying to make up for their small equipment

D200 zappers are quite good, but if they are releasing MRF for 390, I dunno how many will stick to it. Many will usually change the tires.Originally posted by riot View PostI would like ABS as an option rather than Standard in 390 Duke. The D200 hold very very well on pure tarmac.. Throw in even a little bit of gravel or water it will make you pee in your pants with the torque the D200 already produces.. The D390 *if* equipped with similarly spec'd rubber would give mild heart attacks IMO.Last edited by Praful; 11-16-2012, 08:23 PM._________________________

Thats what they are doing with the Pulsar.. Making it less radical and more practical.Originally posted by DeVille View Post@Antz: Instead of buyin from KYM's Powerparts catalogue, why doesn't Bajaj just sell us the 390 engine so that we can build a bike around it and cover all needs they have missed?
Bad bad feeling was in a Nagpur/Vidharbha way... (bekkaarrr.. Get it?)Originally posted by DeVille View PostAnd KTM pricing it aggressively in EU is a good sign for us right? Why bad bad feeling then?

re: KTM Duke 390 unveiled with 44 PS & 139 kg dry weight. Coming soon to India
Well truly speaking its just
- Bigger heart
- ABS
- Metzeler tyres (hopefully)
With all this in I personally don't see how an why would it be priced anything more than 50-60K over the duke 200!
