A piece of advice: Refrain from personal attack, in the public forum. Be courteous and polite.

Doubts are being posted in the forum to understand and be informed from the bike users.

Above posting is based on the survey as read "According to a poll conducted on which company makes highest quality bikes in India, result has been achieved that Yamaha ranks 29.7 %, Honda 24.3%, Hero Honda 20.7%, Bajaj 10.1%, Royal Enfield 8.7%, TVS Motors 3.5%, Suzuki 2.8%. Indian Automobile market is flourishing with newer launches, makeovers and upgrades quite often. Based on a survey conducted the top highest quality bike manufacturers in India are listed below"

However you can put your experience in owning one of TVS model, which will be highly appreciated. Be young but not impulsive.

    Thanks
Can you please pass the source of information? Probably a biased survey! Or people probably upvoted for the vehicle they own..

Though I don't own a TVS product, I know few feiemwho own it and the quality is good.. infact the quality of plastic is good

I own a Pulsar 220 for the past 7 years. I want to upgrade to a much comfortable and a slightly powerful motorcycle but I'm limited by budget. I am super confused between the 310R and the upcoming KTM 390 Duke. The current gen 390 lacks in comfort while the upcoming motorcycle does promise to improve on the same. Also, will I be able to install a windshield for the 310R if I chose it over the 390 duke?

You can add comfort seat to a stock D390.
And you can add a windshield to any naked bike, efficiency although is a different matter.
Let both the bikes roll out first and then take your pick.

          Cheers.

Well.. for me if the duke 390 2017 has a counter balancer and if it makes the bike vibe free, then duke 390 2017 will score over BMW for sure.

W.R.T R3 pricing, do you think Yamaha can price it anything under 3 L by just removing the fairing and clipon!!!

Comparison with the leader of segment the Duke 390 is inevitable. Competition and comparison just makes it better for us; the customers as companies compete to bring out better made and priced products. Personally I feel duke 390 is an amazing machine which in terms of power and technology would still be better than G310. But how that power is executed is totally different. Some people may prefer engine refinement, overall reliability etc over outright power delivery and cutting edge technology(ride by wire, slipper clutch, state of the art design swingarm etc). Also not everyone is going to use that full power potential consistently. That is where I presume G310 would become relevant. However assumptions on refinement etc are just assumptions as only a few reviewers have ridden the vehicle. Bajaj and TVS may be surely comparable in terms of quality and reliability but I feel RTR is better made than Pulsar. Irrespective of that, I dont think G310s quality can be read in same line as TVS or KTM or Bajaj as BMW would strictly hold on to their quality standards; Doesn't matter if its made in TVS plant or not. From a technology and skill perspective ability to deliver a particular quality is a matter of choice. I believe that choice would be strongly exercised by BMW upon TVS. BMW or any other manufacturer may have had quality issues and might have recalled vehicles etc. However there is a basic benchmark they try to adhere to which is higher than say KTM, Bajaj or TVS. Overall i expect that we would have a very worthy choice in this segment once G310 is launched. Probably a better choice. Again what defines better many a times can become a matter of perspective.

They can't ignore India numbers for sure. Its their first bike in India they have to start strong. BMW name might be premium for us but cant ignore fact that their bikes are not priced high in comparison with competitors. The very attention manufacturers give to mid and entry sized segment products is due to declining numbers in higher displacement bikes in European and American markets. BMW cannot demand a premium based on brand value in this particular segment in any market including India. I think they will price it slightly lower than Duke 390. Else sales may make little sense.

@SiD13 I agree with some of the points you have mentioned, but the delay in launch is what might move prospective buyers from getting the G310R. I am being one such customer. I can't wait one more year for this to get delivered, better to get the newer Duke which will hopefully be delivered by April max.

The new Duke certainly rocks with all the new features and swingarm and the BMW 310R needs much more than a badge to make it a serious competitor.
