Wow I didn't know that. Some take the cleaning very seriously. They would never do it Pune as they don't have time.

Hello Everybody... !!!

Here again with a new problem...... Guys i'm having a problem with my meter... what's happening is my RPM needle is getting "stuck" when I rev it to higher rpms, i noticed this when like 3 weeks back i took it to 113 kmph with sgsarthak on his P180 (thought of getting into sports mode) and i stretched the gears and at the end i found the needle stuck at 8k rpm... it got me into more into a state shock and less into surprise coz ab parents ko kya bolunga ki needle kahan atka ke aya...??? and after some knocking it got back...

but now whenever i stretch any gear (like lower gears 1, 2 and 3) and go even slightly above 4-4.5k rpm the needle gets stuck... and after a knock it loosens up comes a step down and starts initialization from like 4k or wherever it finds it support... worst thing is it even gets stuck if i rev my engine in stand as well "4-6k pe jaake atak jaati hai..."

Now for this I contacted the company personnel regarding the meter claim under warranty, they said it will get changed U/W... ???

So now i want to ask you that though i won't compromise if it needs a replacement but is there anyway that i could prevent a meter change coz i'll lose all my KILOMETERS that i have clocked till date so much effort and riding... and "meter ki panni tak nahi nikli hai abhi" i have currently clocked 8500+kms...

Okay now the intended mentions lockhrt999 , petrolhead_chn, s1d , Cleaner... mere Online Bhartashri(s) meri madad karo....

Hi Guys,

Hope you have seen these new colours being offered on Pulsar 180.
It looks like Bajaj is willing to clear the stocks and make way for next gen P180.
It is speculated that P180 will get styling similar to Pulsar 200 NS. Do you like this move from Bajaj??

New part is expensive, it costs somewhere around 2.2k.

You will have no trouble to get it changed under the warranty. I got mine changed under warranty at only 2k kms. A fall caused my bike's RPM needle to misaligned by just 0.2k.

And no, No one repairs the consoles.

prajwalmd close your eyes and get it changed under warranty. you should be happy the odometer is starting from 0
lockhrt999 - of course they are guys who repair the consoles (including digital ones).. but not at the ASC.
SurajD - Even the 220F's are now out in this new color combinations.. I am wondering why a new color/sticker scheme if they are going to be phased out ?!? (well, i do not know how true the phase out news is for the current 150,180 or 220's)

Hi S1d..

I feel this is just to ensure that all the manufactured lot of current gen pulsars gets sold.
I believe P220 will also be discontinued very soon. atleast after the launch of P150NS, P180NS and P200SS. Reason's being..
1. Once P180 and P150 gets upgraded, 220F will remain single bike with old design hence it can't have benefit of high volumes.
2. So if they have to source parts in lesser number, it will ask for price hike which will take it into P200NS territory or even beyond her.
3. I agree that P200SS won't be cheap to displace P220F but still company will having a full faired bike on offer.

By the way, how do you all like the design of New Pulsar (with design similar to P200NS) over the current Pulsars?

Do you think the p150/180 replacements will be out soon (in the next 3-4 months).. I am thinking more like the first quarter of 2015.
Going by the spy pics of the new 150/180 , i personally did not like it - and it also kinda messes with the p200ns which currently stands out from the crop of pulsars.
The current 180 is a neat looking (performing and vfm) machine.. just love its beefy stance !

The glass covering may came loose and putting pressure on the needle. I think your bike is revving okay, just the needle is not moving. Ask for replacement under warranty. Your meter can last a long time if "abhi tak paani nahi nikli" ifyouknowwhatimean.jpg
If you want, the old odo reading can be put in the new console but ASC won't be able to, or should I say is not willing to do that. It requires a EEPROM chip to be removed and resoldered, one can reprogram the new chip too. Theoretically it should void warranty but in practice, it does not.

Thanks for your reply Sir...

Ya they said this glass thing... so what's your advice should i deliberately get the meter changed U/W or should i let them try with their needle repair stuff...

hahaha, that's great if only a solder is required for old reading but rolling the wheels is a better option than soldering to get that reading...

and YES i definitely want the link to "ifyouknowwhatimean.jpg"

okay, now i think that recent fall is responsible for this plight... anyways thanks for your reply Sir...

First of all, please don't call me Sir, it makes me feel old. I would advise you to get the meter changed and if possible do a back ally deal with the SVC guys and get your old "broken" meter console too. Then the chip could be transplanted, chip transplantation is a straight-forward job and any one with a soldering gun (and a hair dryer) can do it. Reprogramming the chip to change odometer reading is a completely different thing and I would not feel comfortable disclosing the how-to openly because a lot of people will misuse it.

The adhesive on the glass was not applied properly, so the glass came off and putting pressure on the needle. But, since you have knocked it so many times, the needle might be disfigured and the internal mechanism might be out of calibration, hence, I suggest a replacement, especially, since it is under warranty.
I am back!

Sir, I think since its tightened so it will be making noise for a few kilometers, or one case can be that your chain is not clean and/or lubed properly... I experience (with slight vibrations on left foot peg) this every time I get my bike serviced or chain tightened... but after sufficient lubing and running for a few kilometers it gets normal... just my point and experience...

what is 'tight not too tight' ? - there is only one correct setting for the chain slack, so please set it at that recommended slack. i think you are getting paranoid at the little nothings

The chain is fully lubed its just that don't like this sound.

Well buddy the mechanic did it I guess he has made it too tight. I went for a long 300 km ride after he did the job and I had lubed it then still the sound is there. I guess I will go there again. Another thing I showed it to the outside mechanic he says to flip the front sprocket
