Strange! My 11+ year old 80000+km old stock bikes rpm doesn't flicker! If its a very slow flickering then can be due to numerous causes but it shouldn't ideally flicker.

park the bike on stand and put it in neutral. start the engine and then rev it a bit and try to hold it contant as say 2-2.5k rpm. if you still see the needle flickering. its the tacho..
if it dosen't flicker at that rpm but does at lower rpm. its the AFR. however 100-150 rpm isn't much of a diffrence and no tacho is prefect. what shows on meter can be easily off by 100-200 rpm on a accurate rpm reading machine.

Hi guys, since the RPM doesn't fluctuate away from the 900-1000 rpm mark I have stopped bothering, especially after what I saw on the new P180 and an old one too. Thanks for the inputs Divyanshp150 and theironhorse99.

Also guys, when do you suggest I change the engine oil next? And which make and product? Also how often to clean & lubricate the chain?

Hay friends I need a small favour from all of you if that's OK with you all. If you can check in your cities about a part number dk141001 petrol tape for our bikes . here at bajaj it is not available . please see in your cities as I have checked everywhere and also why I am asking this as the current petrol tape which is available is of DJ model which actually is not for our bikes it is for 150cc. As while using this make the bike comes to reserve 28km before. As I have checked it on my bike from every angle.

Right now I am tired from bajaj people as they are not at all corporative towards there customers. Hence friends can you take out little bit of time and help me on this. Than a ton.

Whatever the ride is... 2000~2500km would be the right interval for an oil change to ensure a clean and well protected engine. You could extend by a few 100km more in emergencies. Use any of the branded motorcycle specific oils like Shell, Valvoline, Castrol etc... and Ensure the grade is correct 20w50
clean & lube chain more frequently if ridden in very dusty or slushy wet conditions... otherwise once every 10-15days or 500km is sufficient. You can use one of the chain sprays in a can or fresh engine oil or 90 gear oil to lube the chain. Since the bike has a main stand, its an easy DIY and using engine oil or gear oil is more pocket friendly.

I got my rpm meter fixed for my bike suzuki shogun. And that guy is experienced in all types for speedo and tacho. Any one wants solutions for the meters can contact Ahmed 9880678414 and he stays in bangalore.

Stsy away from the knn. All the trial and error with new jet sizes, constant carb tuning issues , oil will go bad quicker and whole lot of problems. Not worth it.

Want more power get yourself a more powerful bike, you won't find any benefit just by fitting k&N and more engine will be screwed.

Guys please help me out!

i have completed 6k kms on my bike. i had put motul 5100 at about 4k kms, but during my 3rd free service(@55k kms), the service center guy told me its compulsory to change oil and poured in bajaj 10000 (which, btw, sucks).

Now, i have 2 things to ask about...

1. i was wondering if i could switch to synthetic oil now...but someone told me that you should not directly switch from mineral to synth. what should i do and what oil should i go for? i want to change oil as bajaj oil sucks bad.

2. since after the service, i am having this issue in rear brakes. now, its not a regular issue, its happening once in a while. i am getting a "backfire" feeling sometimes when i m applying it. its making a tuck sound and pushes itself up (i dont know if i am explaining it properly)

also if anyone could advice me what to do with the shitty headlight

There is no issue in switching to FS oil from mineral, absolutely safe, why did you let the ASC change the oil you should have stopped them bajaj oil is utter utter crap, drain that oil right now and refill with Motul's oil

Water might have seeped in during service and you are getting that backfire feeling, remove the back wheel and just rub the brake shoe and brake drum with sand paper, remove the brake cam and grease it slightly and i think your problem should get solved.
