Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
Fuel knob part of the tank isn't the lowest part of the tank. Front of the tank is basically divided by the frame which runs in the middle. Rear bottom part of the tank is lower than the fuel knob and that's where this extra 1.2 litre resides. This lower part helps to accumulate garbage from the petrol. Stuff that's heavier than petrol such as water, sand, dust etc go there instead climbing down into engine.Originally posted by prajwalmd View PostBOLD wala..!!

Re: I am planning to modify an old pulsar (model before 2002)
Sorry no idea on conversions.Originally posted by Divyanshp150 View PostYeah thanks for that correction
Any idea on a p150 to p180 conversion? Is it a bolt on job? I have a ton of questions regarding this and only maybe a few thousand kms or so to make up my mind
divyansh....
May be Sell your p150, put a little more money and pick up a used p180 and if necessary spend a little every month to fix the p180 back to optimal working condition.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
dear,Originally posted by Divyanshp150 View PostBajaj dtsi is crap oil, ask your svc if you can bring your own oil. If they allow use the following or change oil outside later on,
When you go for your first service ask them to,
Adjust clutch cable(its a little tight from the factory)
Change engine oil to motul 3000 15w50 or motul 3100 gold 20w50 (drain after using it for 2000km)
Keep using this oil till you reach 5000 km on your odo meter
Then shift to motul 5100 15w50 (3500nkm drain interval)
Ask your svc to clean the centrifugal pump and filter of the bike since this will have a lot of metal shavings from the run in, get the clutch cover gasket replaced (22rs only)
Now for the run inn its best to keep the rpm level instead of the speed, rpm is more important,
Keep it under 4k for the first 1000km and then gradually accelerate, no sudden acceleration... be gentle on the engine, after your second oil change let it rip:P
All the best.

my bike is completed 1700 km now i am changing to motul 3000 4t pluse 15w 50

motul 3000 4t plus 15w50 is an excellent oil for our pulsar 180now the gear shift is too smooth and there is some performance difference in engine
i think the drain period is 2000km
thanks divyansh for your suport

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
Hi guys, purchased a P180 9 days ago. At delivery, the showroom guy told me that until 1st service I should expect a mileage of 30 km/l. However, until now, after a run of around 240 kms I still am getting a mileage of 26 km/l.
Do you think there's something wrong with the engine?
Another thing I've observed is that when idle, the engine RPM needle fluctuates within a range of 1000-1200 RPM. It doesn't seem natural to me, do you guys have an idea why it could be happening or should I just wait until 1st service.____________________

Now bikes are allowed to run a little rich during runn in and even the tappets are set loose, wait for the first service go through a few posts also, it will be fine.
Itpf the problem persists after 1st service let us sort it out then

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
If you ask me, there is no such thing (at least as yetOriginally posted by metalmaniac View PostHi guys, time for 1st service! Please suggest the best service centre in Bangalore! It's crucial that the maiden service be done well.
) as the best service centre... it comes down to the mech working on the machine ..i'd suggest you hag around and watch it get serviced so maybe you could pick up a few pointers.
not much is done at the first service except changing oil and cleaning air filter, wash and chain lube. Since you have reported low mileage, pls inform the asc about this and maybe it requires leaning out the afr.
btw, how did you calculate the mileage?
