I have checked the valve clearance and they are in spec. Even have the sound after an oil change. I will only clean the oil filter in the next weekend or two. I cleaned the carb and replaced the slide, diaphragm and spring.

    I use:

    Oil: Motul 3000 20w50
    Spark Plug: NGK CR9E
    ODO: 20 000km

    Any help will be welcome....
Its because your chain slider is gone..
Its located in between swing arm and chain. This sound is coming when chain directly touches swing arm at times.
Anyway its a very irritating sound, so, please change chain slider if needed. Problem will be solved.. Thank you

Actually Bajaj are going to discontinue pulsar 220 and 180 from December 2014...thats why they are bringing new colour combinations for 220 and 180 pulsar...

I highly doubt about they discontinuing 220 .. Bajaj's max no of sales is comprised of 220 and discovers..
Might discontinue 180 but certainly not 220 ..

Very true today the maximum sale where bajaj is standing is because of 220 and 180 plus the 150 they will never discontinue them as I'd they for they will be loosing good share market and position. Well the can launch the new 180ns and 220 ns along with the current one but I highly doubt about the discontinue of these good products. As I remember is was having a word with as asm of bajaj he was also saying the same thing that company will never discontinue them.

                Hello people,

Recently I got my pulsar 180 ug4 tyres changed at both ends with Michelin pilot sporty, now when ever I m over the speed say 60 kmph there is a terrifying shake at the handle nothing that i cannot control but its worry some, and the rear tyre gives funny feeling like its out of alignment, I went to the SVC and they suggested that its bcoz i choose a different tyres than stock one and when I went to the shop at which I got my tyre changed they said that its due to both my rims are bent, Now that sucks, can anyone give me suggestion on this issue and if i wanna change my rims what will be the cost and is there any other rims available other than stock one. Thanks in advance.

My tachometer is showing wrong values, RPMS are shown properly till 4k rpms but after that it raises to 11k rpms, n it moves like it does on a Hayabusa Tacho, on applying/increasing throttle it raises like this > 4000>11000>somewhere at 5-6k > 6-9k rpm. What could be the fault guys?

Boss faced the same problem a month ago...showing this to the service sector they detected that the ecm unit has been out order and it was causing the problem....but one of my friends 220 has the same problem its the wires that got loosened and water has been entered through it . It can figured out by blowing it out from the unit. Please don't waste the time until it got stuck go for proper service checkup from a authorised service centre.

Thank you for the reply. I had a look at the chain slide from the swing arm side( still 100%) from the primary sprocket side I looked with a torch and can't see that it worn through on that side as well. Going to work tomorrow without the chain guard (if its not raining). Don't want to ride in the rain without the chain guard.

I added some pictures. Sorry about the quality. Using a shitty phone. My chain slack is still within the service limit.

Guys, my roommate got a 2nd hand P180 and we are experiencing a teeny tiny issue. The bike was serviced after the buying process was done with the only new thing bolted on is the new chain-sprocket.
The problem is - it feels lethargic to pull in 1st gear. It feels as if the fuel supply is inconsistent and is almost about to die. Post that, it just surges ahead and works really well apart from the popping sound from the exhaust on downshifts. What is wrong here, can someone please shed some light on this?
                          Regards,

                              Clean carb,
Replace spark plugs and retune your carb please...
Clean air filter, change engine oil and check the cluch csble and adjust if required.
Also check if tank has water (notorious in pulsars)
Theres an easy way to fix this but il leave that for another time.
After all this enjoy the bike

                                I have a question,
I have a p150 classic 2003, 80k kms stock bore, its slowly loosing compression but still dosent consume oil,
I will need to go with a new block piston soon, dtsi is diffrent so out of the question,
Can I go for the 180 block piston sice only the bore is different and stroke is same,
Also, apart from the block and piston,
What else will be required? Can I use the same head abeit with new valves because I belive without a larkger head and valves no hump in power etc will be felt.

I love the bike and dont want to sell it
