    • Went to a few dealers today. Surprisingly, none of them had Hunk. One said that Hero is revamping the model, some said they are not getting stock for months. WoOt? Strange. Finally found a dealer who said he has a black one in his warehouse, couldn't see it as the warehouse had already closed. Going again, on monday. Xtreme is amazing too, but Hunk certainly has more muscles that would suit my frame[6'4~80 kgs].

No need to open complete engine. So you can skip it for time being. Complete engine will be opened only when crank needs overhauling.

Tried cleaning plug(It was dark black, only yesterday I got it cleaned, but became fouled again) but to no avail. Went to a spare parts shop nearby, asked for non-resistor type. He had only the same UR3DC for Pulsar and NGK resistor type with him. Bought NGK (genuine Hero Honda spare) for Rs.110 as I had to reach office soon and Yes, the bike fired to life again. And the acceleration became smooth, less vibes etc. Don't know how when it is going to stop again.
As you said, its all because of sole reason - the damaged bore!
I have been Planning to get it rectified for a long time, but had to skip each time due to other priorities.
Pulsar plugs are colder than extreme plugs. So it easily fouls and ngk are quicker to foul than other plugs. For your problem, i recommend to buy a first size oversize piston and ring from usha and re bore your engine.

I will post my experience about my trip and also now i am using my extreme to go to office on mondays which is 172 km one way and returning to bhubaneswar on saturday which involves lot of highway riding. So tomorrow i will post my experience and you will decide if you go for extreme.

what will happen just changing the gear wheel that makes noise without changing the counter gear bearing and the main gear bearing in this case ???
Change the gear and bearings for complete solving of problem. But now not required as no need of opening complete engine.

I always change the spark plug every 8K kms and the air filter every 5-6K kms as this is the only proper "service" my bike gets - i think its dirt - take out the front pad and clean it will take just 5 mins to DIY .

Managed to get the KBX front pad from a spare shop for Rs 140 - this is the best pad for the xtreme - remember my brakes were feeling spongy a while back ? i bleed the brakes many times and even got a new unicorn "eco" pads but the brakes still not felt right - the SC people as usual said the brakes were fine - suspecting the "eco" unicorn pads i asked around for some other pad and as luck would have it this guy had the KBX pad and as soon as i put the KBX pad all my problems got solved .

The front cowl was replaced at SC and when they removed it was all in bits and pieces and they charged me Rs 150 for the spares .
can u send me the link for brake pad cleaning and changing of cbz DIY??
so i need to change the spark plug.... how much it cost and which company?

Thats a carb drain outlet, looks you lost the pipe somewhere .. You can attach any same sized hose to it and route it to bottom of your bike ...or you can leave it as it is , no problem

The first is a filtered air inlet . Search the neighbourhood to find a black long rubber hose whose end is a L -shape Immediately find it out get it fit, as only filtered air should enter there

                    • I tried servicing the bike on my own today. :P

                      1) Adjusted the tappets using feeler gauge from Stanley.

                      2) Clutch wasn't smooth, so wanted to clean the cable and grease it today, but in the midst of doing it, my clutch cable snapped. There was a local one available nearby, but I'm going to pick up an OEM cable tomorrow.

                      3) Cleaned and lubricated the accelerator cable.

                      4) Tried to clean the carb, followed the Stunner DIY but got stuck with the removing the TPS. I'm not sure on how to remove it. Could someone help me with that please?

                      5) My front brakes, running KBX Pads, make a funny sound when I brake only when the bike is moving. Like a rubbing sound, but not metal on metal. There's a lot more of the pads left. I can hear it through the helmet while riding. But can't make out what it is. Opened up the caliper assembly today, but couldn't find out what was wrong.

                      6) There are 2 outlets from the fuel tank, one thin one and one fat. Only the thin one on my bike has an outlet pipe, the fat one doesn't. I'm not ok with ignoring things even if they tend to be harmless, so could someone tell me what is that outlet for and what pipe must I ask for at the spare parts store?

Got the new Xtreme.. pix coming in soon
already done 98 kms. with all the do's and don't of the run-in period. Should I change the oil on my own I mean is it that simple or should I get it done by a local mechanic.
I was thinking of getting a teflon coating on the bike, please suggest should I go for it or should I use Waxpol or Formula1 wax.
And Sibun wating for your experience to be shared

Congrats on your new ride - yeah take it easy - for waxing i would recommend turtle wax - very easy to apply but costly compared to Waxpol which i currently use - waxpol is hard to apply but gives the same amount of shine as turtle wax - got waxpol for less than Rs 100 i think.

Buy Turtle Wax Super Hard Shell Wax Polish

I wont recommend any costly treatment for protecting the paint - last week i saw some guy paint his whole tank black for Rs 800 at the SC and it looked just like it came out of the factory .

Oil changing is very easy - get a 12 size open ended spanner and loosen the drain bolt thats it .
