In case if u cant get cam chain, then u can also use nuts. I mean nut bolt wala nut. Tie small nuts in a string with a gap of 1~2 inch. Keep one side out and use that.

. But sadly my family members do not think the same.
Every family have this problem. Even I'm born with same kinda blood in my family.
My maternal uncle (mama) makes an engines of scooter, bikes, cars and trucks. He is very well known and people take them to their work place & drop them home at their own cost because he is well expert in that.
My two maternal uncle i law have their lathe workshop which undertake the job of TATA steel company.
My dad was also a DIY at their time he had overhaul his bike engine, now because of his old he don't do it. All of the tools collection that i've post some time ago was his collection, he loves the tools a lot. He was working in TATA steel in loco depart making train engines or whatever.
He was also working in his home doing electronic work fixing tv's and all but later he left it and open a side by side business of videography and its still running. Not only this, I from very young age was helping my father doing all DIY's in home (only I NOT my brothers), even we've together installed water pump in home including fitting tank on the top and all pipes & taps in our home alone. We've done all the wirings, fitting switch in a ply board, fans, lighting and all things alone.
I & he also loves cameras and all, recently we've bought NIKON SLR D7000, therefore the photos which u people see (in splendor thread) have brilliant color and off very high quality.
He owned Royal Enfield standard 350 from 24+ years, have ran 3.5+ lacks kms, and at that time he bought at Rs.20,000 from showroom on road.

Therefore, i'm not only a DIY of bikes, but also for many things.
    A hardcore from birth!

        • bad day today my cbz got a hard blow from back because of buffalo

today morning am going to town a family guy (new hero glamor ) with his wife and two kids coming behind me suddenly a buffalo came across the road from right side (buff is out of site as an auto is coming @ right side ) as soon as i noticed the buff i tried to pull over to left to my best but as there is no more road i slowed my bike then with in fractions my cbz got blow from that family guy, nothing happened to me my bike not even gone out of control but that guy and his family fell on the road suffered with minor scratches on the skin used their first aid kit and advised them to visit a doctor

neither of us did mistake but both the bikes damaged a little his glamor is new one
that guy is very good one it seems not even uttered a single word

now coming to the point here is my damaged chain guard what to do with it

Thank god you and that guy with his family are safe and nothing major happened.
Many experienced riders/drivers say that Indian roads are totally unpredictable. As the buffalo was in the blind-spot,I don't think this incident could have been avoided.

It looks like the glamour has hit the chain guard on the rear side and hence the bend. Remove it and just beat it back to shape using a hammer, any mechanic should be able to do it easily. If the other bike has hit your bike elsewhere then check for any alignment issues/damage to suspension components(such as Swing arm).

            • for my knowledge only his front tyre made contact (first on tail and after that the tail guided his tyre to chain guard) no other contact

now i got another idea in my mind as am going to change the tyre in 1 or 2 months

i want some big tyre but not much but little bigger than stock 110/?-18

will this fit on my cbz with chain guard or shoul i remove it

Then just remove the chain cover and bend it back into shape. If you know how to remove the cover, you can also fix it.

Hey you got the engine work done?
You had the same issues like my Hunk (noisy 3rd gear, bore problem etc), though I couldnt get it done yet.
So how much did it cost you in total?
where did you get it done?

Many FMs here would be expecting your answers, as many Xtremes/Hunks have these problems, especilly gear problem.

ya i got my engine work done , works as follows

changed 2 gear wheels 3rd & 4th (both counter wheel too means 1 gear have two gear wheels so total 4 gear wheels) as per sibun post have to change the counter gear bearing and main gear bearing when the engine is fully open i didn`t noticed it well at the time of the post i noticed only after my engine works done , currently there is no noise from 3rd & 4th gear and completed 1200 kms after engine work still there is no noise

overhauled cylinder due to scratch in cylinder, changed piston and rings (first over size )

                        changed timing chain, tensioner

all these costed me 4500 rs

                              • apparently it improves the flow of exhaust without buying an expensive free flow exhaust
