Speed rpm mismatch is questionable , but yes acceleration is badly hit , mine was loose and pickup , top end was low

Mineral oil upto 10,000 kms, thats what company recommend. SS oil can be use after 6000 kms but its a oneself decision and i don't personally recommend. Its upto you. Mine is the Big Bore from Joel, bike has otherwise clocked 20k km. I tuned the carb again the other day, I'm hoping it turns out right. Is a little wavering in the idle RPM acceptable? To the range of 100-200 RPM?

If it is not available go to Honda showroom and buy Honda unicorn rubber gasket for head cover. And always use a gasket sealant as sometimes head cover might again leak and cause a mess, for gasket sealant use resibond clear 330. Yes, chain slack affect the performance of bike as loose chain will load both the sprockets by sagging and will cause power loss and less speed at particular RPM. An overtight chain will load both the sprockets by pulling them and will cause the bike to feel harder to rev and too much of vibration.
Man are you crazy, Hero is the world largest producer of two wheelers. Hero makes 2 bikes every 3 minutes. How do you think they will provide the same quality as shown in NAT GEO. Those are luxury cars and produced by orders. Each car takes 3-8 months to built as depending on company and model. As you said engine is hand-built by single engineer and signed. I wanted to see Hero's working condition but don't know how i can !!!
But in case of hero which makes so much bikes it is not possible. Take for example if engine is built. The engine will be moving of the assembly lines and each part will be fitted, some one places the crank, another gear box, another attaches the crank, another fits the piston, another slides the bore, this way the assembly line moves and work continues. So no body pays special attention to the work as in those bikes.
Also in those workshop the workers are engineers or artisans but here they are mostly fitters. Also all are fitted with pneumatic wrench but in those workshop everything is hand tightened with digital torque wrench.
And do not compare with them as will you buy if the extreme cost Rs.1 lac, so everything has a price. Even without those Hero is best in quality.

When we are buying an oil we always neglect the higher rating of oil, but from my practical experience, it is required. Why?
Let us study the spec sheet of 10W 30 and 10W 40 oil:=
10W 30 oil has a kinetic viscosity of 11.2 cst at 100 degrees.
10W 40 oil has a kinetic viscosity of 16 cst at 100 degrees.
20W 40 oil has a kinetic viscosity of 16 cst at 100 degrees.
Kinetic viscosity is the resistive of oil to flow. It is measured by taking the oil in capillary tube and heated and measuring the time to flow. Its unit is centistoke.
Do not think that the 100 degrees is not important as it is the oil temperature and in engine the oil gets heated upto 120 degrees easily.
Oil doesn't only lubricates but also cools. By circulating through out the engine it carries the heat with it and away from hotter parts like piston,timing chain,valves, rockers.
So more quickly the oil circulates the more cooler the engine runs.Also it revs quicker, i have personally felt engine to be lazy to rev when heated up in 10W 40. Also in 10W 40 i felt the engine to be heating more when ripped on highways at 80-90 for 50-60 kms. When i took a break hot air was hitting my legs. No such problem in 10W 30 oil.
So what is the difference that Hero recommended 10W 30 oil. First of all extreme rings are very tight and harder than unicorn. The reason why extreme feels viby and tighter than unicorn when new. Also the oil pump pumps more oil per minute so the oil will return quickly. Also extreme produce more power and revs quicker than unicorn, so 10W 30 reduces engine drag and frees up the engine.
Actually 10W 30 oil is good but the Hero oil had made a impression that 10W 30 is bad. You can try Veedol 10W 30, Gulf, motul, shell, almost all brands have 10W 30 oil in their portfolio.

Today, I was searching for Service manual of CBZ Xtreme on internet, but couldn't find the same and instead of that I found full version of HONDA CBF 150 UNICORN SERVICE MANUAL. Instead extreme fel strained and heat up more when using thicker oil. The basic difference is that splendor oil pump run from timing which is approximately half of engine speed. But the extreme oil pump run directly from crank, as a result it pumps more oil than splendor engine. On splendor mileage difference is not much when using 20W 40 or 10W 30, but in extreme, my extreme returns 55-58 kpl in city when i used 20W 40 the mileage became 40-42 and bike felt like unicorn, engine lost the punch that it is so famous for.
Regarding compression then the original bore in splendor comes with less harder compression. Just use USHA bore kit and see what is compression. Moreover slendor engine is designed to run on 20W 40 but extreme is designed to run on 10W 30.

help me to maintain a new bike
hi,
i am going to buy a new hero xtreme in few days. i haven't owned my own bike till now. Also i have used my dad's old splendor but i am not good at maintaining a bike. but even i maintain those bike they are of no use. Now, owning a new bike i want to maintain it good from the beginning.
please help me with what to do to make it good.
1. DOs and DONTs
2. Daily maintenance.
3. Oil details - make and maintenance.
4. how to do a long riding, and also city riding.
I need to know all the above and more of your experience too. Please help me. I have joined xbhp particularly for gathering biking knowledge.
