Mine is 2011 FZ, ODO reading 6k, and its getting 50-50+kmpl. And since the new model is "very NEW", the mileage will be not constant, after 2 services it can be finalized. anyway new FZ is much smoother and i think less torque compared to old models. So there will be an increase in mileage.

a little help required here.
my fz-16 is 3yrs old .i am no frequent traveller so basically my bike sits idle for a period in garage.i had to put choke everytime to start it up.
now it was sitting idle for about one month.it just won't start up (with choke on) ,the display of speedometer goes out when i push the start and it sounds grrrh...cut. maybe the battery drained out ! so i give it local mechanic for charging .still it shows the same symptoms .it starts up when push start in gear.even after riding for 15-20km ,self fails to start.why yamaha doesn't provide kick start option ? push starting sucks .
do i have to buy a new battery ?

time to buy a new battery.... and there is a kicker option available i think it can be fitted in the older ones as well....

I saw this limited edition Fazer when I went to buy my Fazer 2 weeks back...I think this is very recently launched.... The alloy & the silencer also was navy blue coloured..

guys in FZS console where it shows fuel indication i need to know at what amount of litre i can make the fuel indication blink stop.

yesterday i got myself new FZS and showroom people said they filled one litre petrol and again i filled an another litre so its 2litre in total but still fuel indicator was blinking!!!

Not sure but i think it stops blinking if you have 3.4L or more fuel (1.4L reserve + 2L on main)

Fill it to the brim with petrol, stops the rusting of the inside of your tank.

I am not sure bro but then again it is not calibrated with FZ speeds and the front wheel. You will have to check on that. I doubt anyone here has tried this mod yet. You can check with a fellow rider from Philippines, inverlade he can help you out with that.

Expensive option is to go for Koso RX2N and the likes of it which will cost $ 170-400!!

Thanks for the inputs guys as I've always liked the r15's console so was thinking if it would fit in the fz. Anyways will try myself now.. was just asking whether its already done by some xbhpian.

Thanks, but which grade of Motul. Regarding carb, do you suggest cleaning now? What are the proper settings of FZ carb, I mean the exact turn of AF screw from full close?

You can go for Motul 300V 15W50 FS oil.
As for the carb settings... I'm not too sure of that.

Owner's manual & Basic maintenance

Mates does anyone have digital copy of FZ16 owner's manual?
Atleast I need the pages covering PERIODIC MAINTENANCE. If anyone have then please post the link.

I request seniors FZians to post DIY regarding FZ periodic maintenance topics with pictures in DIY section or here so that it would be helpful for noobs and to avoid unnecessary wastage of time and $$$ spent in SVC for unsatisfied service in many cases.

well after reading the forum ,i thought amaron is a good choice .i asked the amaron shop and they quoted ;
1. amaron 5ah beta-48months warranty - Rs1200
2. amaron 5ah beta- 60months - Rs 1600
first one is good choice by my thoughts .why give extra 400 for 6 months replacement warranty when battery itself costs 1200.
also i wear specs and has difficulty in night driving as not all roads have lights . the headlight is weaker for me .so,i thought of installing better one that give more light and white light .
please recommend a suitable headlight upgrade (direct fit) + battery combo for me. (i could not find the suitable post in the forum ,so asking here) .the amaron dealer said 9ah will not be suitable for fz-16 as it will not charge the battery.

you can go for the stock spec maintenance free(dry cell) battery along with a 55W osram nightbreaker costs around 700rs (or for a pair dont remember) os if you have the budget you can go for a 35 W 4300K HID costs around 900-2500rs depending on warranty....
